I'll just observe that it is flat out amazing how fast I, and much more of the fanbase it seems, went from being excited about back-to-back Elite 8s and three Sweet Sixteens in a row to literally not giving a damn if the coach carries his ass to USC.

I'm only speaking for myself but my "give a damn" meter is based upon who we hire if Muss leaves. Regardless of what some national reporters say, Arkansas basketball coach is a damn good job that should attract high-level coach interest.

I've seen it and it played out kinda similar. Beat some good teams and then fell off a cliff. Remember beating highly rankednOU and Texas(the Jimmy Banjos game) and then lying on the court for a good bleed with the Redheaded Hayseed. Only throw in romantic drama amongst teammates and it NOT being the women's team.

How on earth could he come back at this point? Toxic wouldn't even begin to describe it. He's not getting a new contract so he finishes out his current one as a lame duck? Recruiting would be impossible.

I don't disagree but recruiting is only one consideration. How exactly do you see that playing out with him coming back? Does he continue to fly all over the country doing job interviews until someone hires him? Are pissed off boosters going to give him a nickel for NIL?

I tend to agree that it's not impossible. At the end of the day if he comes back then they either blow it off like it never happened or publicly come out and say everything is just fine and dandy here's more money and a longer pretend contract that both parties can exit from after next season.
