Quote from: red death on Apr 10, 2024, 07:42 PMThe whole thing was embarrassing on our part.

Calipari acted like he should be running the entire university.  It's hard to envision Hunter Yurachek being his boss.  He upstaged him big time.

Hunter is clunky, Pittman is a yokel, DVH is class though. But a marked difference in anything we've had here ever as far as class and style.

I hope Calipari doesn't run off in the middle of the night because he can't handle the stupidity.  He doesn't belong here and it shows.  He's way too classy.

Yeah I don't think it was that bad. I'm sure Hunter was a bit nervous, John is a class act and a celebrity. We just hired a fucking celebrity HOF basketball coach who recruits at the highest level. I seriously doubt there's too many places that would have several thousand fans show up to a midweek press conference. Watching Muss' intro it seemed like there was 20 people there. They don't give 2 shits.  4K people showing up is why he is fucking here. He has an ego and wants and knows he can win here.

Was kinda cool to see him already call out the bs press conference and ask wtf you keep giving this one guy the mic and not everyone else who's had their hand up. Hope he changes that, stupid shit has been going on way too long and we've put up with it. There was none of that dumb shit in Muss' at USC, I don't think one person even got the mic twice.

You may be right. One of them was ranked #5. I think. Maybe.

Thurman (I think) hit a little jumper at the end to take the lead. Great drive home listening to the 49ers dismantle the Chargers.
I'm sorry Elvis......for all of it.

Today we went from being "on the map" of college basketball to being the "you are here" circle on the map of college basketball.

Cal's staff and roster build will be when the balls drop. As cringy as the intro/presser can be it was done pretty well. Can't wait for the next steps.

You're certainly a self hater. That is, if you really are an Arkansas fan.

no shit. two days ago this guy was saying cal getting hired was the greatest thing ever.

the press conference wasn't for the fucking ad, and i'd wager not one other fan came out of that thinking cal was going to take over the athletic program and run off in the middle of the night, both at the same time.

I was impressed he left the stage just before the press conference concluded saying he wanted to personally meet and thank the other coaches for coming. You could hear him addressing each coach until they cut his mike.

Do I think HY is a great public speaker?  No.

Do I think Cal is a great public speaker?  Yes.

Hunter doesn't need to be a great public speaker.  Cal, on the other hand, better fucking kill at being a great public speaker.

HY does his job very well just like Cal does at his.

Not sure what all the fuss is about.

It seems pretty clear that Cal would still be at Kentucky if Kentucky had given him the resources to succeed.

Agreed. I kept waiting on something uncouth being said and I also thought it was a great gesture. He also asked DVH what the score of the game today was.

Who cares? They didn't, and he's not.

sorry, didn't realize I said we should care.  I was only making an observation based on Cal's comment about administrations winning championships.  But since you brought it up.  We should care.  It means Arkansas' administration is in it to win it.

Kudos to HY for giving props to Muss. Same to Cal for talking up Muss, Eddie, Nolan and Frank. He had nothing bad to say about UK fans or the state, so you know the issue was with the AD. He didn't say anything negative about him, but by saying nothing it's the same thing. I was very impressed.
I need help and I know it.

Did they announce the attendance?
