Quote from: red death on Apr 11, 2024, 10:16 AMLast night was textbook by Cal.  He paid homage to Frank, Eddie, Nolan, the Triplets, mentioned Ron Brewer (maybe that's good for Jr?).  He joked with Kleine. He was completely comfortable and owning the room.

He called us a premier job last night.  Forget the past.

We have our Godfather.  All hail kiss the ring.

This you?

Quote from: red death on Apr 10, 2024, 07:42 PMThe whole thing was embarrassing on our part.

Calipari acted like he should be running the entire university.  It's hard to envision Hunter Yurachek being his boss.  He upstaged him big time.

Hunter is clunky, Pittman is a yokel, DVH is class though. But a marked difference in anything we've had here ever as far as class and style.

I hope Calipari doesn't run off in the middle of the night because he can't handle the stupidity.  He doesn't belong here and it shows.  He's way too classy.

The meeting between Hunter and Cal. What if there was never a "what about you?" and Cal stayed at Kentucky.

Isn't that weird? It seems somehow inappropriate for a current SEC coach to be helping another school hire a coach away from a third SEC school. Imagine Musselman staying at Arkansas and consulting with the Kentucky AD to hire Beard. Doesn't seem right.

How do we know Cal was suggesting other SEC coaches?  It's pretty common practice for AD's to consult with other coaches when making a new hire.  Bobby Knight recommended Eddie Sutton to Frank.

Norlander says Hurley says definitively "no" to UK.

Kind of obvious to most of us, but guess they needed to hear it.

I'm assuming. Because Beard and Jans were two of the top names on the leaked list.

If you think it was a coincidence that HY happened to be in Phoenix when cal was, there's oceanfront for sale just down the block from the hotel.

Final Four.

"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Crazy that the AD at a Power 5 school would go to the Final Four and the National Championship game.

I'd bet Cal knew exactly why HY was in his room. HY knew exactly why he was there too. It was just a game of chicken (Tyson chicken) on who would ask first.

I seriously doubt HY had an epiphany sitting next the "Don" of college basketball.
I'm sorry Elvis......for all of it.

I didn't realize there were fans sitting in the upper levels of the arena.  I don't remember the cameras ever panning to the stadium seating.

Just because we're not well polished with Chuck, Yurachek, Bob Holt and Pittman?

They are embarrassing and Calipari is class.  My comment is directed at how he outshined them all.  We have our share of goobs and he's not.

That triggered a lot of people for some reason maybe could've worded better.  And I was drunk.

I do love the comment about my personalities though.

I wouldn't classify HY, Chuck, or Pittman as "goobs".  Bob Holt, absolutely.  The fact they let him ask questions amazes me.

I don't think HY or Pittman are polished speakers from a delivery stand point.  But few are.  But they don't come across as dumb or unprofessional.

It's not like Holt works for the university.  If they denied credentials to everyone in Arkansas media who came across like a goober, there would be like two or three people at each press conference.

I know.  I don't seriously believe the University would prevent him from questions.  It does seems to me that none of the coaches like Bob's questions.  Hunter's responses to Bob's were very pointed and a bit harsh.

Cal tells that same story to Bo back in a 2011 interview so I would take all this current shit with a huge chunk of salt.
