For those of us playing at home, let me see if I get this right.  When things look to be going to shit, Hunter is at fault.  When we hire a big name and make a big splash, Hunter gets no credit.  Is that the correct answer?

We don't know jack shit about what's going on behind the scenes.  Most everybody on this board is getting upset over a bunch of internet speculation.  HY is getting raked over the coals because of a bunch of hyperspace bullshit.  I would suggest some of you take the strongest chill pill you can find until the hire is done and then you can bitch, cry, wail, and moan to your heart's content. I'm not a big HY fan because of the Pittman extension, but until the hire is made, I'm not ready to call him a disaster either. 

In today's game, NIL rules and because of that, a lot of power has been taken out of the AD's hands and has been given to the boosters.  Booster A will give $$$ for certain coaches, but not others.  Booster B doesn't like the coaches booster A does and will only give $$$ for other coaches, and so on and so on.  The AD has been relegated to trying to hire the coach that would attract the most NIL money.

This guy's a freaking genius.  I think he should get lifetime free dues on Woopig for this.

If he would have hired someone like Beard then sure he gets the credit. John Tyson's friendship with Cal and the fact that he is putting up a majority of the 5 million in NIL promised kind of points to Tyson being behind this does it not?

I was texting with a forum member about Cal and I realized my dislike really boils down to playing against him and few sound bites he has given over the years.  I don't really have any reason not to like him.  

I also told said member that from a basketball coach perspective, I like Cal much more than I like Muss.  So this is fantastic for me as a fan of the game.

I'm going to laugh hard if they are "allowed" to hire Will Wade. The simple money would have been to do that...take him at a bargain basement price and give him an ass ton of NIL money. That we didn't hit that birdie says he was off limits. Will be interesting who gets to knock it on in.

Tyson and big money guys are always "behind" any hiring.  This is apparently happening on Yurachek's watch, so he should get the credit.  Remember, if it turns out badly, you won't blame Tyson, you will blame Yurachek.
