I would have guessed Barford's rebounding and steals numbers were higher than that. He was a dawg.
Also would have guessed Corliss's rebounding was higher.

If they had a better 5 than Davis, this team would go undefeated in a round robin tournament.

He would get abused by every other 5 listed and Corliss would struggle the as a result.

I remember one time he was shooting free throws at the end of the first half. He banged it off the backboard so hard the rebound came back to him with time on the clock. He clanged the follow up shot even worse as time expired. They went back to the studio where the main guy said deadpan, "We'll have a little bit longer halftime than usual while we repair the backboard from those two bricks Satchell just shot".

At least at the HPER, when you choose a pick up team that doesn't work, you get the instant remedy of having to sit out when you lose, and getting to re-choose about 15 minutes later.

In college basketball when you choose a pick up team that doesn't work, you're stuck for the whole fucking year.

It's almost like the old system of building programs with four and five year plans was better or something. Crazy I know.
