the SEC Tournament is always a lot of fun if you like basketball and given the state of the league this year, the tournament should be out of this world.

beware of the arrogant KY Jellycat fans who will likely have post Cal derangement syndrome

an interesting read on what they have to report to the NCAA.

$21 mill in non-sports assigned Admin and Admin support seems for a department with just 19 sports.

We went to the SECT at the Pyramid in Memphis in '94.  It was a really good time.  This year's tourney will have some really good basketball.  I think it was semifinals when we played KY and it was about 1/2 and 1/2 KY/Hog fans.  KY typically travels pretty well.

Looks like Boogie is gearing up to play in the NCAA.

Not a fan unless he can provide depth off the bench.  Wagner at the 1 and Davis at the 2 is the formula that got us here.

Remember trying to integrate Nick Smith back into the mix?  Didn't work worth a flip.

Boogie wasn't the reason we weren't winning. He had one of best in the country in assistd and assists to TO ratio. He also shot the ball better than any guard we had at the time. Several other guys played poorly orcwere battling injuries.

If he can play, you absolutely welcome him back but with a role of coming off the bench. His minutes alone would be a plus.

Playing 7 guys in the SECT will be taxing.

CFN has us winning 2 games in the SECT. I'll take that.
I need help and I know it.

despite the time off, fland is 2nd in points and steals, leads the team in assists and ft %.

if there is any truth to this, it means he's been practicing and cal's comfortable with the chemistry. again, if there's any truth to it.

Same. Playing 7 guys 3 days straight, that's a daunting task when facing Auburn. Beat SCE and OM and I'm happy.

Show-Me Hog

Would rather have Thiero back. We need muscle.

Fland does seem like the Nick Smith situation. But if worked in gently, maybe he'll fit.

When Fland went down, and Wagner went to his natural position, he flourished.  I like his size and physicality at point better than Fland.

Davis also flourished at the 2 and he's big and physical too.  I don't like featherweights in the Tourney.

When Thiero went down, Brazile and Aidoo had the best games of their season by miles.

Fland and Thiero, by the numbers, look good.  But there's something about their presence on the court that made the other guys disappear.

It's weird, chemistry that is.

Now if Fland comes back and Davis and Wagner don't have any fall off, and we go on a run, that would be great.  But if he comes back and we struggle again and lose?

I want Fland only as bench relief.  Give me 15 minutes to rest my guys.  But I don't want him pushing DJ back to the 2.  Not ever.

I don't think you mess with the starting lineup but if Fland can get you 15 minutes it's going to be gravy for us

Didn't we make it to the Sweet 16 and beat a #1 seed after Smith came back?

I believe so. How soon we forget. I think that team was a bit of a disappointment considering we had 3 legit NBA guys maybe another couple "pros". But you're gonna have that when you are good every year. There's bound to be those disappointing Sweet 16 runs.

I think after our awful start we would take a dub in the tournament and gracefully bow out but it sure is nice getting to the 2nd weekend.

I'd take a first round win and call it good given the roller coaster this season has been and the depleted roster.  If we could somehow get Thiero and Fland back, even as depth pieces playing under ten minutes a game, we could be a highly undervalued 10-11 seed with potential to make some noise.

Aidoo had surgery in the summer no one knew about. Davis suffered a wrist injury to his shooting hand. We brought in a completely new roster that didn't have an off season to gel. We had 3 freshmen playing a lot of mins from the jump. I think those things factored in to the slow start.

Even in the losses, we were in moat of those games till late. Cal saw this early on. He repeatedly said this team would take their lumps early but would be much better by March.

Boogie is good to go if he wants to.

Thiero wants to but is done.

Cal isn't saying anything because he wants them both in his back pocket for Selection Sunday gamesmanship if something goes horrifically wrong on Wednesday.

He had 17 points and 1 assist in three NCAA tournament games.  Played 68 minutes.  Not Wooden watch list numbers.

Smith didn't play well, but given the results I don't think he tanked the chemistry either.

I'd hope Cal would know to ease those guys back in as role players at first.
