when we host ky, bama, texass, the vols, or auburn, how is the atmosphere different because someone is in a corporate seat? the place is rocking at those games.

with weak non-con games we have people here and on other boards that can't give their tickets away. didn't the school set up a clearing house for resell because the crowds were so bad despite having all these 'great' fans? that's the reality of scheduling.

i get the other side of the argument but the school is not wrong in trying to make up the costs.

What if you're paying $5k and having to sit several sections outside your donation level while someone is paying 1/5 to sit in your donation level. Is that fair?

Are they in those seats because they've been longstanding ticket holders? 

If so, I'd say it probably is fair.  A 5K donation shouldn't be all it takes to kick those fans out of their seats. 

Fandom in college sports shouldn't just be about what you can donate.  Granted, that hill has been knocked down as one to stand on for a long time.

With corporate held tickets, it could be the difference between a longtime fan with a vested interest in the Hogs winning, versus a transplant who is just there for the event or to entertain a client.  That's the only real risk to it, and I don't see a way to objectively measure the effect.

I've been a donor 30 years but didn't purchase basketball till around 2019.

A seat has a price. Ticket prices universally increase. It shouldn't matter how long you've had the seat, you should pay the value for what the seat is worth.

The donation is part of the cost to sit in the seat. Otherwise why do we have sections specific to donation levels?

No I don't, but normal capitalism has never had anything to do with the Razorback Foundation!

Hell, it probably more or less says that in their formation documents.

2 games this weekend (MSU at Ark, Vandy at UGA) determine our match-up in the SEC conference tournament opener on Wednesday:

If Arkansas and UGa win: Ark (9) plays USCe (16) at noon
If Arkansas and Vandy win: Ark (10) plays LSU (15) at 6:00pm
If Arkansas loses, UGa wins: Ark (12) plays Tx (13) at 2:30pm
If Arkansas loses, Vandy wins: Ark (11) plays OU (14) at 8:30pm


I'm rooting for Vandy because I don't want to see Collin Murray-Boyles or Tre Johnson ever again!

But you do get credit for your time.  We've been in row 4 of section 101 since 1993, amazing seats.  We're gold level Broyles/Matthews donors.  I know of several platinum donors 10-15 rows behind us. Is that fair?  Of couse not.    I'm going to miss my seats and totally understand the logic but I am optimistic about my spot in the pecking order of gold members due to our priority points.

On the other hand, it seems like most of the really good seats at Baum are now in the hands of corporate donors and often go unfilled.  It seems to have had at least some effect on the atmosphere.  So I don't know that you can assume one ass in the seat is as good as any other.

This Baum has not been the same since the seat shuffle there.

Back to hoops:
If someone wants to pony up to sit in cramped seats and the only time there isn't someone talking over canned music is when the ball is actually in play then have at it - that's the market at work I guess. Still, the in-game host is stupid, annoying, and the mics are so over modulated you can understand what they are saying it's like Charlie Brown's teacher.

How long before they tell the band to hit the bricks so they sell seats in their corner spot since the DJ plays 90.7% of the music?

They also need to adopt the ball in play policy at BWA that was finally put in at Baum-Walker. especially for the assholes who refuse to go down to the floor and up the middle aisle to their seat instead of cutting through the whole aisle to get to their seat that is next to the middle aisle.

Finally, driving to a campus event from anywhere north of Fayetteville (Benton County) has become a nightmare as 49 @ MLK is a total shit show.

When will the new interchange on 49 south of MLK and between Razorback Road be ready? Razorback Road is an option for those to avoid MLK but then getting a clear RR to turn left is no picnic. Huge advantage to come in south from Greenland.

also - Cal bitched and Muss confirmed - but non-conference attendance is not good anymore and it likely won't be better anytime soon as Cal like to play attractive non-cons at neutral sites which also take $$$ to attend. jacking up the price isn't going to help that either.

I guess my biggest beef with Tyson's pool boy is that while knowing all this additional money was needing to be accounted for and raised they have done little to nothing to cut expenses or DOGE it to trim the fat/excess and instead of have just passed the bill onto the fan.

It is past time for the athletic department to operate like a business instead of a ole miss coed living on their step dad's american express card.

My wife is a UGA graduate so we could do the Bulldog game later that night as well. Can you buy tickets at the venue or are you forced to buy them through Ticketmaster on-line?

Not sure about the venue but people outside had them for sale. I'd check online first.
