still, i thought there might have been better opportunities even if he had to wait another year.

Wow - Purdue is gonna be a massive rebuild in the new big ten. Money better but the path to the playoff better in Vegas and if you make the playoff in Vegas then a better job than Purdue awaits.

I bet he won't have to ride a bull to raise money in west Lafayette

Does the oc go with him to Purdue or does he get the bump at UNLV.?

Well I think you can close the book on any dreams of Odom coming back to Arkansas or at least you can for a while. Oh dang. Whatever will we do.

Kick the can down the road maybe Lashlee is in play this time next season and might very well will be and will probably cost a lot more. It's possible that can got kicked because Lashlee wasn't going to bail on his SMU team to entertain a move to Arkansas. It's also probable that when they tell you they aren't doing anything because it's the fiscally responsible move to make that they are being serious

*This does not endorse Lashlee as my front runner for the Hogs next coach although history seems to repeat repeatedly and we keep fumbling getting the good coaches with Arkansas connections.

I'm telling you what the play is and it scared me right after I thought of it because I thought we were past it and it is quintessential Arkansas.

Sam has one more year and then he is gone.  The Malzahnistas will make a play to bring Gus home.  He quit at UCF for two reasons.  One is he wouldn't be an attractive candidate at Arkansas if he had another rough year there.  And two, he would have had a larger buyout as a head coach than as an OC.  If FSU has an offensive resurgence next year, count on the NWA Malzahnista contingent to make a run.

And being Arkansas, we'll be all too happy to fund one more washed up coach's retirement.
