It has rained so steadily all spring long that you often get the same whiff of a smell that you can around the ocean and low tide now in certain areas. 

It's been a good spring for planting trees and shit, just a long steady run of rain for months.

It has been a wet spring in Houston too.  Stormed this morning with more rain this week.

We are getting enough to stay green but not so much it is a misserable muddy mess.  I love it.  Reminds me of when we first moved to Houston in 2002.  It rained so much that I though we had moved to a tropic oasis.

Yep, it always irritates me when people are filming for a while and it's obviously going to miss them and they run inside just as the video is getting good. I've seen a couple where the people were filming an approaching tornado pwith a car in the foreground for a good 5-7 minutes that they could have loaded up and got out of the way. Ran inside instead.

If someone can't read a radar by now, they deserve what they get.

That's the damn truth. My kids are in their early 20's now. When they were babies and we were out on Greers Ferry, if a cloud blew up anywhere, you had to get.

Liking in central Oklahoma (which oddly enough I miss) taught me two things.  One, if the wind stops blowing, shelter.  Two, if the 'nader isn't moving, it's actually heading toward you. 

I also learned dating nurses can be dangerous because they think they can stitch you up well enough to hide the fact that they stabbed you.

what weather app do yous guys use? I've been using Open Weather but lately it's like their forecast is the opposite of what actually happens.

Friday when it came a monsoon it "wasn't raining at all"...then later it cleared up and it said it was raining...then after that it was for sure going to clear up and it came another steady downpour. Ended up ruining some testing equipment on a job site over the deal.

Yesterday I was figuring on getting on a rooftop to service a unit...app said it's gonna rain by 2 pm and stay raining. So I get their around 11 ish...immediately it begins to rain. So I nope out on that shit. By the time I got back to town the sky was clear, sun out and all was well in the world. So I ended up opting to go back over to the rooftop unit around 3:30 ish...got everything set up and whammy the fucking sky went from sunshine to now we're back to stormy weather. I had to fix an ac unit in the rain and then scuba dive off the roof top down a slippery ladder and it's all because of Open Weather.

For local weather, I use Arkansas Storm Team app. It's Yakobian. Has hourly forecast that's usually pretty good. Radar is basic but good

my mother was a nurse.  i didn't go to a doctor or hospital unless i needed an x-ray or an internal organ was on the outside of the body. 

stitches, steri-strips or butterflies made from tape were also used often when stitches were needed, all done at home.

probably goes in the new bass' love life thread, but a dating pro-tip, don't date a woman in nursing school.  you will be their guinea pig for starting iv's, etc.  my first wife was in nursing school while we were dating.
