There was no market for Sam Pittman. We took a flier on him because no one else wanted the job. That was the market we faced. So what did HY do? Gave him a raise and a stupid buyout after a single 9 win season. Lets not pretend we were competing with the market. No one was coming after Sam Pittman.

I don't understand why people completely forget this.  We hired a guy that Arkansas fucking State would not have hired, because Yurachek had no plan B when he got destroyed by Ole Miss in the negotiations for Kiffin.

not defending yurachek, but it's not that bad when you have a little context.

I'd hire someone from the SD St, ND St, Montana St coaching tree. Those teams win, play physical and I would think the coaches are looking to move up. They would be use to the "talent" we have.

Those guys often play great football but the sec game is different for money , portal, recruiting.  I'd be looking for someone that was a SEC coordinator of note and then maybe hc at a lesser p4/ g5 school with some success.  Or if we got the bucks steal a coach that's capable of being on a dais with Cal and DVH. 

It's all moot until we see Sam is fired.

Sam always said he'd never coach elsewhere.  This was the last stop. He wouldn't have to be fired.  Then he fired his lifelong agent and signed with Sexton. Regardless there was no leverage.  Want more money? "Sorry, Coach out your contract.  Thanks for pulling the program out of the shit. We can now attract a better coach."

Yuri bent over and gave Sam this ridiculous contract.  With a goofy buyout and the .500 goal.  That should have been based on SEC games not all games.  Yuri set it up for a. Bama A&M to count the same as Georgia.  Big raise.  $42 mill is what he'll steal from the RF.
