re: Yurachek

Tyson does his job for him on the Calipari hire in basketball.

Silverfield is doing his job for him fundraising NIL for football.  It's striking how much his tune has changed just over the past month with regard to NIL.

No one gives a shit about any other sport apart from baseball.

I'm on smoko, so leave me alone.

I do like the fact that Silverfield seems to be a fearless and aggressive fundraiser.  I also get the feeling that he won't restrict himself to that "legitimate" NIL HY kept on carping about yesterday.  If he needs a particular player he is going to cultivate the booster connections to go and directly get the funds from someone to pursue the third way.

vegashog

let's see what campbell's salary is. word was he wanted north of 10 million, and no way was arkansas going to pay that.

piglosopher

On the DC hire, Florida fans complain and poo poo everything even hiring Sumrall, but from what I've read, they're pretty complimentary of Roberts. Napier's issue was refusing to turn over play calling duties.

Campbell may well end up being worth it but on paper they pretty just hired the same guy they fired which makes no sense.

Awesome that silverfield gets a seven figure commitment within 3 days of coming to Fayetteville while the the AD who has been here 8 years just makes excuses and complains we don't have any money.

Oh yea, he got a half mil last year from Oaklawn.

What the frick does he think an athletic director do - just tweet good luck to every team on gamedays?

Again, what are we paying yurachek $1.5 million a year for and why are we paying him that much? Would love to hear the bot explain that.

Again, where is the plan he promised the chancellor and bot?

Amazing what some energy, desire  and a plan can do. Silverfield is doing great and showing what a total shitshow we have had the last 8 years.

We ever get that big Saracen money?

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

They advertise but seems like the department sided with oaklawn instead. They run the raffle I believe.

The Athletic Department needs to raffle off something to buy HY a new sport coat. He looks like a barker for a depression-era carnival.

piglosopher

I hope silverfield keeps getting the donations rolling in because hopefully it tells the bot what HY could have and should have been doing all along.

Skeptic here: Is it possible the 7 figure donation story was meant to create buzz and is entirely fictional? Who outside the building would even know? Is that stuff public info? I doubt it.

Chandelier bidding basically.

I disagree.  Campbell did much more with much less than Franklin.  PSU may have hit a home run here.

As I understand it, the raffle is actually supposedly run by the Athletic Department but they have subbed it out to some company that is getting about half the money.  So, another losing proposition.

Not my personal preference for an offense but he will still push the ball downfield when the defense gives up the opportunity.  The West Coast style would have never worked with Green taking snaps, but KJ looked like he'll be comfortable with the timing reads.  We won't be one of the top offenses in the SEC next season, we might give up one or two pick-sixes to the flats, but I'm optimistic as long as the running backs hold on to the ball and the OL makes literally any kind of improvements over last year.

I'm booking my Liberty Bowl hotel room early.

That was my assumption as soon as he said it. Silverfield didn't seem to know what he was talking about.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

The problem I see with this style of offense in SEC is that you need some serious speed to pull it off.  The LBs and DEs in this league are big and very fast.  So stretching the field is hard.

yet that article says drinkwitz and kiffin run the same thing.

"West Coast pass game plus zone read run game" could describe Lane Kiffin's offense, or Eli Drinkwitz's, with only minor differences."

i though he was complimentary of the offense, as long as it has good o-line play.
