Maybe. It's gonna be interesting to see where he goes. If he goes somewhere he gets fired within 3 years his career at the P4 level is likely done.

The only coaches who've been fired here with less than five years are Petrino (who was wrongly terminated but not for on field reasons) and Morris. We kept a barely functional retard around for ten years, including back to back losing seasons in years 7-8.   We are more patient than most schools, especially given the lack of results. 

If Franklin does poorly enough here to get fired after three years he doesn't deserve another crack at P4 coaching, and he wouldn't win at VT either.
