Bowls are going to have to somehow shit out a lot more money as an incentive for players to want to play. Otherwise we are going to see some opt-outs like never before. We aren't playing for free catfish and a t-shirts now...guys have million+ deals and are literally free agents every season. No reason to put yourself at risk so some asshole can eat Cheetos on the couch watching you rip up your knee in a meaningless late December bowl game. It sucks but when it became a big business and was treated as such...hard to blame the players for wanting to maximize their earnings potential.

Ok lets look at it like this because MATH..what's a realistic rotation SEC player worth? An SEC team like NFL teams is probably mostly playing about 45 to 50 guys. Those are going to ideally be the primary NIL money guys. No doubt we're paying plenty more just for the off chance they stay and develop. 

If it's 55,000 to $80,000 maybe at minimum. So sure out of that 12 million or whatever the number is we're probably paying 4 or 5 of them really good money and the remainder of the team is getting sub 300k figures 

It's still good enough money to not want to piss away next season's potential earnings over a bowl game.

Do away with bowls and allow all teams to play a late spring opponent. We're already seeing Spring games go away as well.

Let the portal finish. Establish your team. Play a spring opponent with the roster you expect the next season. It would drum up more attendance and money than a bowl game.

They get paid regardless of if they play in the bowl or not (which honestly is part of the problem).  

There is zero reason that Kansas State, Iowa State and Notre Dame should have opted out of their bowls.  All that happened was the once again the adults allowed the inmates to run the asylum.  I would be willing to bet that 95% of the players had no issues playing in the bowl game if told to do so.

All that need to happen is the schools need to have a clause that says "If you want 100% of your NIL then you will play in ALL games during the season, including the bowl game."

Can we replace most of the bowls with a bikini flag football game between the (female) cheerleaders and pom squads from the respective schools instead?  Now THAT is something I would pay good money to watch.  The funds raised could go to funding the NIL for each school for the coming season. 

Hell, make it tackle football.  The possibility of seeing some gal get TRUCKED and a tit pop out would probably drive 30% more viewership.

Well there was the LFL but that went extinct in 2019. It's replacement, X League, which the season happens to start next April, looks like they have more clothing.

The LFL was fucking awesome.  I mean, aside from some amazing bodies, those gals played some football.  They put some hit on some some bishes when given the chance.  Putting more clothes on them won't help their numbers though.  They need to get a finger on the pulse of the country and reconsider...

Regardless, tie NIL payments to all games.  Pretty simple way to keep bowls.
