My piss is hot but mainly because I've been on a roof top this afternoon brazing in a unit and nothing to do with giving a shit about Arkansas Football. Anyway that's where I'm at.

This part worries me. Memphis players are not SEC players.

I'm not real optimistic but I can't hate/shit on the guy yet.  He seems to be a decent dude trying to do the best he can and he seems to be doing some good things in recruiting and fundraising.

they were good enough to beat an sec team last year.

the program averaged 1.75 conference wins the last eight seasons, i'm sure there was long line of really successful dudes waiting to be interviewed. like biddy said, never has a new arkansas coach been held responsible for 15 years of shitty football by so many fans.

For better or worse, he's tied at the hip to the guy who hired him and the associated blame.

Quote from: bigpig on Jul 23, 2026, 01:27 PMI'm appaled that we dont have a clear and obvious QB1. This isn't the late 1900s, where you were stuck with whatever high schoolers you recruited and coached up.

We are an SEC school with a Tyson patch on our jerseys. We can't buy a solid QB from the NIL market?

I want to like the guy, but not naming a starting quarterback is a huge red flag.

There's no way this team wins 5 games.

Yeah, sounds like business as usual.

They were good enough to beat a team pretending to belong in the SEC.

Trying to remember the last time we went into a season without a clear starter.

2025-Taylen
2024-Taylen
2023-KJ Jeff
2022-KJ Jeff
2021-KJ Jeff
2020-Feleipe
2019-Ben Hicks (gross but was highly touted from SMU)
2018-Ty Storey
2017-Austin
2016-Austin
2015-BA
2014-BA
2013-BA
2012-Tyler
2011-Tyler
2010-One Five
2009-One Five
2008-Casey
2007-Casey
2006-Rojo (but Casey was injured and also had Mitch)
2005-Rojo
2004-Matt
2003-Matt
2002-Matt
2001-Zak (although the UNLV game we used Ryan Sorahan, Zak, Gerald Howard and Tarvaris Jackson and didn't use Matt LMAO)
2000-Robby Hampton
1999-Clint
1998-Clint
1997-Clint

Pete Burks was 1996. He was awful. Clint wasn't ready as a freshman. So it's probably the worst situation in 30 years.

It sounds worse in excerpt than in context.

He didn't bring it up, which would be cringe.

The guy put it in his question.  "You are 5-1 against coaches in this league, what do you say to those who put you at the bottom of the coaching hires?"

He just bounced back the stat to him.

We won't remember this the first time he wins an SEC game.

Yeah. I'll allow it.

"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

The problems are beyond the coach and even the AD at this point and nothing will change until that is acknowledged. The fans can't continuously give a damn when they are the only ones that do.

15+ years of organizational ineptitude at the top and last place finishes at the bottom have sunk whatever brand value razorback football had. Don't think we realize how far we've fallen. Arkansas being just average is rare in the living memory of this college generation.

I have nothing against him, I hope he succeeds. He more than has his work cut out for him reversing this trend.

He actually commented on the 15+ years and said he has been reevaluating everything top to bottom around here to figure out why we've sucked so bad.

We'll probably suck if the QB play is as bad as yall are saying, but I'm sort of liking what he's selling.

Silverfield understands what it will take to build a winner here, arguably others did too. He's got the charisma to maybe make some of that happen. It's going to take private interest (e.g. Tyson, Wal-Mart, JB HUNT) to kick start because the fans aren't shitting out NIL dollars for a continually shitty product. The fans are not going to emotionally or even financially invest in players that we all know treat every play like a business decision. Lots of other programs fans will just suck it up and fork over the money but Arkansas fans seem to have that radar for bullshit and vote with their wallets probably more so than most other SEC fan bases. That comes with the territory of failing to meet even the minimum goals over the last several years unless you count Texas and Liberty Bowls as = Mission Accomplished.

From the top the message has been about the tall task and the impossible challenges we face in the SEC. It completely ignores that Indiana in a comparable league just bought themselves a fucking ring. How you ask? Money and competence from leadership. They ignore that Ole Miss was absolutely our equal if not beneath us 20 years ago or that LSU was arguably our equal until the late 90s when Saban elevated them. Or that we would get the odd victory against Alabama now and then back in the day even. This program has fallen further and further behind for a variety of reasons but mostly because of fucked up decision making from the front office. That salt in the wound feasters even more now that we can literally fucking buy players and still can't make panties drop. That's 1000% a leadership issue.

💯

Nothing is going to change until leadership changes from the BOT down to the AD.

If you remember a few weeks ago an analyst came in and told the board its recommendations on how to get Arkansas to compete more with other SEC schools. One BOT member was quoted saying, "We are not a win at all cost school." JFC! What the analyst was proposing wasn't even close to that!

That has been the problem for years. There seems to be people that are afraid of pushing the envelope for whatever reason. I think it has to be evangelical attitude for some where everything they do or support has to be a reflection of their beliefs.

This is a dead horse issue that has been pulverized and until things change at the top, we are not going anywhere. NIL has exposed our unwillingness to adapt except for basketball and that is run by Tyson.

Funny how Kiffin was clamoring for contracts and freshman salary caps. We are headed to a premier league whether we like it or not.
