I also like that our HC has OL coaching experience...in the Proz. My early impression of him is that he's going to take an inside to out approach and that won't just be coach speak.

Of course they weren't coming to Fayetteville. That doesn't stop the fan base from wanting someone of that caliber. Who the F is Ryan Silverfield?

I went to the Memphis game. Both teams looked like shit.  A retard fight was my conclusion in real time, on that day.

In any case with QBs I'm not super concerned...if he's worth a shit he'll be starting in a year or two or moved on. Being a home state kid...they'll be plenty of pressure to pay that man his money.

Silverfield is the best coach we've hired on pedigree since Bielema.

We're not a whole lot different from North Carolina.  We could've hired Belichek, or a "big name", but the truth is nobody can make magic with a program that's 6 years behind on NIL because the AD and former coach couldn't evolve.

Silverfield is a decent coach.  And he gets it with the changing landscape better than anyone we've ever had. I'm happy we have somebody who isn't fighting change for once.

I'm all in favor of a super stud reclassifying in basketball or baseball but football doesn't make as much sense to me.  Most are behind physically in a sport where you can't overcome physical strength like basketball/baseball.

One of the local baseball kids over here reclassified last year and was drafted 4th round in the draft. He probably would've been 1st round in next year's draft but he gets an extra year getting paid.

The point of my post was not to over expect this year.  That certainly includes next week on the road as a 7.5 point underdog.  He needs to win the games he's expected to win, unlike the previous coaches before him.  That would be what to look for, and if he pulls off a win or two extra that's really great.

Nobody should be expecting to win at Utah.  I would love it, but not expecting at all.

No downside.  He's the hand picked future of our football program at QB.

He's intelligent and fearless.  The fact a should be HS senior is our 3rd string, over transfer college QBs we brought in, says everything.

Siverfield was the biggest name that would take the job. At best, he was the third choice.
