Maybe trim the flyovers down to just 1 or 2 per season is all I'm saying.  Do we really need a flyover for the N Alabama game?  They don't seem as special when they happen every game.
Things of that nature

Quote from: DirkPiggler on Aug 30, 2026, 09:58 AMThat's what I was addressing. I realize they don't charge the schools/teams for it (although it wouldn't surprise me too much if Yurachek was footing the bill - I'm sure they can spot a sucker from miles away).  If they are flying the same hours and distance for a training flight there is no additional expense to it whether the flight is over a stadium or some cornfields in Iowa.

I'm not stating any of this as fact by the way.   Just what I've heard and/or read from people who have been involved with military aviation and with civilian FBOs where the jets refuel from time to time.  I do know the pilots are required to get a certain number of hours to stay current.

The guard (Army for helicopters and Air NG for jets) usually flies on weekends anyway.
you are correct. they are flight hours that need to be flown.

military likes them because they are formation and navigation training. not to mention they are cool.

Be a crying shame if those Warthogs accidentally laid down a little 30 mike mike on the Vols (empty) bus.

Not really a close call.  They've been doing this particular stunt for several years at that stadium.

We never NEED them.   But again, if the money is already spent why not let it add to the atmosphere?

They even had them for a few games at Baum this year.

According to the On3 board he had surgery.  That's some commitment to the grift.

according to his dad, he did not have surgery. doctors said it wasn't necessary.

i was just making light (kind of) of the situation. rushing for 192 yards, 75 return yards, and one catch for 58 yards would have been one of the greatest first quarters ever.

Winning fixes a lot but it's good to hear this coach say these things. We have to be better across the board.
He's a helluva lot closer to Saban or even Petrino (the last coach who cared about the little off the field things)than Pittman or the Chad.
