Just to clear, you've gone from arguing Bubonic Plague is actually Pneumonic Plague and therefore, contagious to arguing semantics with me that a bacteria can transmit from one host to another through direct contact.
To steal one of your lines...lol

Nice try, counselor. Were we in a courtroom I do believe juror number 5 might be furiously scribbling notes.

Yeah well your wife made my buboes burst last night.

No fucking doubt.
It is like a 20 car collision. I just can't look away.

Arguing about the plague was not on my Razorback Football bingo card.
Oak Grove in the house.

Oh dear; strike three!

In all seriousness, I don't dispute your superior knowledge and experience in the legal realm. I'll even take you at your word that you are an expert 14th-century historian. But when it comes to medicine, you probably shouldn't come into my house and argue about where my kitchen is.

At any rate, before this devolves into the elementary school I'm rubber, you're glue antics I've seen you engage in lately, I will leave this particular discussion and return to the masochism of Razorback football.

I jumped on to see the excitement for fotball starting up and was hit with the Bubonic plague. Maybe that's a sign. Shit.

Sir, you said "well actually".  The condition is described by the part of the body it infects not the agent of infection.  Thus, bubonic plague is NOT pneumonic plague and vice versa.

A movie reference leads to a 2.5 page derail. Holy 💩.
The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

I usually don't depend on anyones word, so I asked ChatGpt. TWB is right. Here's the response, but it doesn't format well.

what is the difference between pneumonic and bubonic plague

Both bubonic plague and pneumonic plague are caused by the same bacterium, Yersinia pestis. The main difference is where the infection is concentrated and how it spreads.

   Bubonic plague                                        Pneumonic plague
Main site   Lymphatic system                        Lungs
Typical transmission   Bite of an infected flea; sometimes contact with infected animals   Inhaling respiratory droplets from a person/animal with pneumonic plague
Hallmark symptom   Very swollen, painful lymph nodes called buboes                           Severe pneumonia: cough,                             chest pain, difficulty breathing, sometimes bloody sputum
Person-to-person spread   Generally no                                                        Yes, through close respiratory exposure
Incubation   Usually about 2–6 days                                                       Often about 1–3 days
Progression   Can enter bloodstream or spread to lungs                              Can deteriorate extremely rapidly
Untreated danger   Very serious                                                      Extremely dangerous and rapidly fatal without prompt treatment
Treatment   Antibiotics                                                              Antibiotics—treatment needs to begin very quickly

The premise: "Bubonic plague isn't actually contagious."
The counter: "Human-to-human spread of Yersinia pestis is rare but can occur once the infection reaches the pneumonic phase."

The premise, without adding qualifiers, is factually incorrect. The counter is not.

The discussion then morphed into semantical distinctions between lymphatic, circulatory and lung manifestations of the plague. The plague was first document in the mid 6th century. The so-called Black Death arose in the mid 14th. Until the 19th century, all cases were referred to as Bubonic plague due to the pathognomonic buboes. The term Pneumonic plague was not coined until 1895 which is due only to the fact that medical diagnostic techniques became advanced enough in that era to make the diagnosis. Circulatory involvement (Septicemic plague) is rare and lung involvement (Pneumonic plague) rarer still but the majority of cases arise from pre-existing Bubonic plague. So, it is safe to say that approximately 5% of the estimated 100 million-plus Bubonic plague cases arising from the 6th century on were potentially infectious.

So, what if TWB, Lurk and Dr. AI say nope, we are talking about straight up, modern-day, Bubonic plague patients with no septicemia or pneumonia. Well, again, TWB answered that question himself by qualifying his original premise with the proviso that the patient was not oozing bodily fluids.

And Boarat, the nap was refreshing. Thank you.
