Won 10 games twice. Rest has been horrific. So double digit wins twice a decade then .500 football every other year. Gross.

And yet it's better than anything we've sniffed...of course being in the west doesn't help us.

When you're doing that in-season, things ain't good.

What is really telling is that there isn't anyone defending the program, where it is currently at, or the coach.  During the Nutt years there were two sides.  Seems Bert and Choad killed everyone's spirit.

I think if you look at Kentucky as a model for Arkansas football. Their coach didn't have super early success but generally it's been fairly good for them. A few derp derp moments but they have also had some 9 and 10 win seasons if I'm not mistaken.

Get rid of the divisions in the SEC and see how this shakes out before we totally move away from Pittman.

I'm with you on that.  We should probably aspire to those standards as long as the SEC remains as simultaneously deep and top heavy as it has been over the last decade or so.  If the league resets to where it was when Nutt was here then our expectations should shift upward.

WTF losses shouldn't happen in year 3 (liberty), and 4 (BYU). Other SEC programs that are historically beneath us don't have this issue. That's pretty much the bottom line.

Fair enough, go back 35 years.  We are still a 6-7 win a year team who struggles to beat mid level out of conference teams. 

The point here isn't that Arkansas can't win big.  Sure, any team is capable of becoming a juggernaut.  Even in our best years we always manage to lose the important games.  At some point you are who you are.  And we are a program that never seems to get over the hump.  And the last 35 years have been not very good outside 2 Nutt years and 2 Petrino years.
