I feel differently about this than I do basketball.  In basketball we were playing for something.  We were trying to make a run in the tourney.  This football season was over the second we lost to BYU.  It was unforgivable.  After that, chances of even making a bowl went way down.  There is just nothing to play for.

At a program like Arkansas you really have to have the feeling in the entire program that you're building to something or everything falls apart and you lose ground in this conference.  That really began to slip last year and this year has been a disaster.

When you have a 62 year old underperforming coach whose only goal was merely to be a head coach, there really isn't anywhere to go.

When it comes to moving on from Pittman, one of the things I absolutely hate is the "you can't fire [coach], who you gonna get that's better???" bullshit rationale.

It's one of the laziest lines trotted out this point in the season. And it's gaslighting and self-degradation. 

If you have a bad coach, get rid of him and go try to find (and pay) a better one. People said the same gaslighting bullshit during the latter part of the Nutt era and we went and hired Petrino.

Just because we fired Bert and hired the worst coach in SEC history doesn't mean we shouldn't have fired Bert. Our PTB and mess of an administration fucked up in the vetting and hiring process.

Pittman's job security cannot be predicated on simply being "not Chad Morris," and we can't be scared to move on simply on the chance we might hire a worse coach again.

Razorback football is dead under Pittman.  There might be 55,000 people there Saturday, but I kind of doubt it.  Facebook is full of people trying to get rid of tickets.  I got offered Razorback club tickets for the rest of the year for "best offer".  Fayetteville is a hard slog for much of the state and people just aren't going to do it for a bad program with a bad coach.

He tried to come back each of the last two weeks, so he was out five weeks initially. 

I don't think "pussy" applies here.  He may very well have caught a case of the fuckits and decided to punt this season, but it's tough to blame him, considering that A) the offensive line is ass, and B) this staff saw fit to add 20 or so pounds to his already big (by RB standards) frame.

He owes no one anything.  He's put it on the line for this team.  He got his nil money and doesn't owe any back; he is hurt with a fucked up knee. 

I'd like to see him have some kind of career in the nfl.  Odds are stacked against him and he has four months to get ready.  He didn't quit but Sam and this putrid staff and I line quit on him.

He'll get lean again and I think will have a good career in the NFL. He doesn't have a ton of mileage on him which has proven to be huge.
