But we haven't done it before. NIL and the portal didn't exist with all the other coaches. Better players with the same shitty coaching will produce basically the same results as they fall into Sam's morass of laziness and indifference and ineptitude. Regardless of bmfp the culture of the team is Sam's.

With better coaching this team likely has three more wins with this squad just thru eliminating dumb mental errors, turnovers, penalties and idiotic coaching. A better coach then attracts no nil which enables better players for the better coach.

It doesn't matter. This is eternal. Fucking Groundhog Day with Sam Pittman in an endless loop of mediocre seasons and extensions.

Sam doesn't coach this hard. Gives it the usual lip service but his teams have no accountability. They don't get better. His teams make the same mistakes over and over. Every season. The head coach is responsible for culture. Sams culture sucks.

The whole issue centers on LT. A win, he goes 6-6, goes to bowl against some equally shitty team, and if he gets a win, since who knows who shows up to play, he gets another year. It's eternal. If he stumbles into a avg season, he gets a year. Shitty year, his buyout is too big. He's here until he dies.

We can agree to disagree on this, but I don't see why it's unbelievable to think certain coaches are less detail oriented than others. Ball security is one detail of many that it seems like a disorganized or less competent coach could possibly fail to emphasize enough.

It's not even necessarily that they don't work on it that could cause the problem. It could be the lack of accountability for the player not taking those drills to the game, which in fairness can be attributed in part to a lack of depth.

Dubinion is a Jr and has less carries than Russell this year. Yet he's fumbled 3 tines and Russell has not fumbled. Does that mean Russell has been coached more not to fumble more in half a season that Dubinion in 2.5, no. Some player's are just more prone to fumbling that others.

Saying we don't coach ball protection enough is PURE speculation and a reach. The only time we see practice clips is preseason and every one shows ball protection drills. You don't think they practice those drills damn near every day?

A freshman, new into the program has accountability and habits that a guy who has been in three years doesn't. Kind of mirrors what we've seen all across the field doesn't it? Players spend a couple or three years under Sam and don't improve at all or even regress.
