Oklahoma State we had in the bag. Up 21-7 at half and the only reason they scored was because we missed a block and got the fluke pick six.

Should've put this away in second half but kept turning it over.

Texas A&M we simply couldn't block their front. We scripted some stuff early that we had success with but once it got away from that, they owned us in trenches.

Missouri, I don't even know. Still turned the ball over and couldn't take advantage of opportunities they gave us.

Very easily could've been 8-4 and 9-3 was definitely possible.

Quote from: woodhog14 on Dec 31, 2024, 10:42 AMYep, and should've won 10 in 2022.

Going 6-6 with that team was every bit as bad of coaching job as the 4-8 the next season.  As much as it pains me to say it, Houston fucking Nutt would have won 9 or more with that one.  Danny Nutt might have.

Bullshit.

The 2021 team could've (and should've) won 10 in the regular season. They lost to Ole Miss by 1 play, and lost to a bad Auburn team at home because we were unprepared.

The 2022 team lost to A&M, Liberty, LSU, and Mizzou by a combined 9 points. I'd argue that was Pittman's most talented team and worst coaching job in his tenure here.

This year's team should've beat OSU, A&M, and Mizzou.

Pittman's had 3 squads thus far that should've gone 10-2 or 9-3 in the regular season, and he's gone 8-4, 6-6, and 6-6 with them. It's pretty crazy that that doesn't seem to matter to Yurachek.

Another reminder that all the NIL money in the world won't fix this.

"Dominated" by Texas 8&4 and lost by a whopping 4 points.

We would've won only 9 games if turnovers were not such a big factor. Auburn gave us one win that way.

Quote from: woodhog14 on Dec 31, 2024, 10:40 AMTy Washington was also a little bitch. I was told, from a person in the athletic department, that all Washington did was complain about playing time, wanting more balls thrown his way and didn't want to block.

He also was talking to other players about entering the portal with him and other shit. He tried to leave last year, but decided to stay.

Washington said in the DJ interview that he was humble. That's a load of shit. He also told his coach no, when asked to go in.

Not a huge Pittman fan, but Washington has a lot more to do with this than he says.

Washington's story seems to be similar to Noodie where the coach wanted the player to go in and the player couldn't or wouldn't go. The big issue with Washington being he supposedly was mentally fucked up over a relative dying. Neither player should have dressed out.

My gut says Washington is using some creative revisions to fit a narrative. The other guy maybe so too depending on the opponent maybe he didn't want to get smoked

We have been the bottom 4 in talent in the SEC for forever. We have a first year OC who took us from one of the worst P4 offenses in the country last year to top 15 with the same level of talent. We've had one of the worst Oline's both years. He's also proven he can win 10-11 a year if he has talent. There is not another coach we could hite that has proven he can win 10-11 in this league.

To me, that has a higher probability of winning more games than the crap shoot of hiring a new coach.

My hope is SP steps down and hands over the keys to BP. Even though I think BP is at his best as an OC. I think it's 99% unlikely a new coach would keep him.

So I ask again, why didn't/don't we encourage him to "step down" and GTFO of the way for the best head coach we've had in the last 40 years?
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

Yeah, that's all really stupid.

I like BP more than anyone.  But the fact is, he didn't do any better than Kendal Briles.  Why?  Because the ceiling on this program isn't determined by the OC, it's determined by the retard head coach.  We made the same sort of boneheaded mistakes and penalties and herpy derpy horseshit with Briles that we did with Petrino.

With good assistants, Sam is a mediocre coach.  With a bad assistant or a bad fit like last year, he is almost as bad as Chad Morris.

Oddly enough, it was Jack Crowe who most accurately pegged our program. In Orville's book he tells the story about how a year or so after he was fired Crowe ran into someone from our state media who asked him how he thought Danny Ford would do here. Crowe said it was a tough job and that Arkansas had always made its way on great coaching, fundamentals, and overachieving.

However, the "we don't have the talent" excuse doesn't hold water considering the fact that 3 of our last 4 teams were each a few plays away from 9-10 wins.

We have a head coach who has a penchant for pulling defeat from the jaws of victory. The differentiator in close games is usually coaching, and ours winds up on the losing end of these coin flips at an alarming clip.

Either we are too chicken shit to do it or it's hard to get someone to step down making $6M a year.

Just because you're close doesn't mean you wouldn't win those games with better players. Quite the opposite. Players win games more than anything. Why have the elite programs sustained a high level of success? They all recruit better players.

It's the former since Yurachek's standard for this program is effectively "just be better than Chad Morris."

He's a gutless coward who sucks as a leader and is terrified of holding coaches accountable.

Last year, Bama was a play away from playing for (and probably winning) a natty.

This year, with many of those same players, they got blown out by shitty OU and Vandy squads, lost to Tennessee, and are currently losing a bowl game to a bad Michigan team.

I wonder what the difference is?

There were three lost teams that were getting serious consideration for the playoffs this year I don't think getting to the playoffs is nearly as impossible as we might make it seem so the issue is going to come down to not having retards to leave the program but even Pittman's dumbass if we get an offensive capable of putting points on the board it could be that we could this weekend as a two or three lost team but probably not because we're Arkansas

They have enough talent to win 9 this year. Give me that any day.

Why was OM better this year than last? We are more like OM than Bama. We have an OC that is (I think) better than Kiffen.

Every recruiting service that evaluates players constantly ranks us 12-15 in conference. Where do we finish?

The Whyte Boar

From Broyles through Petrino we had a team about once a decade that was in the mix for it all.

Broyles won one NC and had several teams good enough in the 60s.  Holtz had the 77 team.  Hatfield had the 88 team that was good enough to in and almost beat Miami at Miami.  Yeah, I know we derped our way to losses against Texas and Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl but that was a team that was close.  Nutt's 98 team was the Stoernover from playing for the NC.  Forget the loss to MSU the following week.  It wouldn't have happened had we beaten UT.  The 2006 team was great and everything actually fell into place at the end of the season with Ohio State losing for us to be in the National Championship game but Nutt's ego and Reggie Fish killed that.  The 2010 and 2011 teams were good enough to challenge but cheating Cam Newton and the refs were better one year and LSU and Alabama the next.

Only in the last decade with Smile, Fat Bert, Aggie Chad, and Kobeer have we not kept to form.  Now people want to talk about how hard it is here and how we can't, but the fact is we can be good and have that one or two teams a decade IF we get good coaching.
