GM in college football has nothing to do with evaluating players and coaches. It's all about NIL management so the coach doesn't have to worry about it.

Then why call him a GM? Most GMs in sports do evaluations, right?

Why not have someone in Edge manage NIL for players and have someone evaluate players and coaches for the UofA, especially for football?

an nfl gm handles team finances and PLAYER talent evals. they don't hire or fire anyone. that's the owner's job.

Rawleigh Williams worked in an NFL front office (sort of - Dallas) and as a sports agent.  He might be a solid choice if we can afford him.

He's totally qualified, which means we will hire Houston Nutt, Tim Horton, or Tera Talmadge.

primary function is the keep the money haggling away from the coaches. doesn't seem like a job i would want dealing with agents, parents and handlers.

TEs are a...concern for sure. But we have to remember BMFP probably gives very few fucks about TEs unless they play Volleyball.


WR is a total crap shoot...for now we'll call them "under the radar" guys. Crutchfield we know was highly rated coming out of high school. Sharpe is fast as fuck, think he went to high school with Green or something. Anthony and CJ Brown return with more learning in this system, for Anthony he's been under Petrino for going on 3 years. 

Cisse transferred in from Stanford.
Kam Shanks is a transfer from UAB that did good things in that league. 
Blake came in from Charlotte. At 6-2 will be among the bigger WRs in the rotation.

None of those guys immediately scream NFL future WRs

If I had to guess this spring lineup will have some pieces added to it before August. Specifically about WR this is a smaller group than last season but I think the hope is better route runner and separation. My concern would be getting knocked off the routes by these big physical DBs in the SEC.

blake and shanks had other sec offers so they aren't total reaches. personally i don't care if they are nfl potential so long as they are worth a shit while at arkansas.

none of that will matter if green hasn't learned to look for more than one wr. it's pretty amazing armstrong had the year he did when everyone on the field knew that's who would get the ball.

Or that were "fine to good" in college and did nothing, if they managed to stick a year or two, in the NFL.  In sum, that moniker isn't well defined at either level.

I guess if you make the NFL you're that caliber but that's almost never what is truly implied by the term.
