Pretty much TAMU was a retarded TAMU, which is likely redundant, and cut into our guy which was on the bottom at the end of the stagger.  They were even and he just cut into our guy and ran into him and pushed him off the track.  That ended our event.  They went on to finish second in the heat, USC won the heat and came in something like 4th in the event, which was good enough to win overall.  We got zero points in the event. 

That wasn't the only issue.  The woman judge that gets the next leg of runners ready can't count so she was holding back the runners when they were supposed to be down on the track to take the next leg so they had to push past her to go accept the baton or it would have been an even bigger clusterfuck.  They wouldn't let our team re-run.

So the lesson here is, if you are ahead of another team and they only way they can beat you is to beat you in an event, just trip them or knock them out of the race.  Doesn't matter if you get DQ, as TAMU did, as long as they don't finish the race, you will win as they won't let the other team re-run.

With football season next, and the slow summer season started, should we count our blessings as a Top 20 school? And this doesn't even include T&F.  From the description:

I also wonder if it's weighted for the number of games, or if they just average together 5 sports winning percentages and divide by 5.

The fact we cracked the Top 20 makes me think the greater number of games in basketball and baseball helped us.

Any recruiting story nowadays should immediately go into the trash can. At least until this new pay scheme takes effect which will change the college sports world again.

If a recruit is any good he will be playing at a better school that pays more within a year or two. (Type A)  If a recruit sucks he will be playing at a lesser school for more PT within a year or two. (Type B). It's a very thin line and small cohort who falls between Type A and Type B, and stays.

Arkansas will now field a football team with transfers from our equivalent Type As (the Murray States and random Texas directional schools) and Type Bs (basically every other SEC school where our new hotness couldn't get playing time).

Recruiting high school players, whether in state or otherwise, is almost meaningless at the moment.

It's more of a sign of the lack of health of the program than anything.  It's a no-confidence vote when an in-state kid chooses a school like Oklahoma State over us.  Doesn't really matter if he ever pisses a drop as a college player.

All of us on the board are very tuned in to the state of the program (even when our opinions disagree).  I don't need a high schoolers opinion as a weather vane.

We're a 5-7 to 7-5 team. 4-8 in an awful year, 8-4 in a great year. Only extreme outlier coaches like Chad Morris or Bobby Petrino can change that.

Oh wait, one of those motherfuckers is on staff. Hope springs eternal.
