Lol, you sweet summer child.  6 wins gets him another year, 7 gets an extension and raise, 8 gets the school started on building him a statue.

This seems obvious. 

If they didn't fire him for following 4-8 with 6-6 (which included multiple one score games we tarded our way out of winning), they aren't firing him for 6-6 this year either. 

The only chance Sam gets fired this season is if his record post-2020 falls below .500, in order to get the reduce buyout.  He's 30-27, which means we have to finish 4-8 (or start 0-4, 1-5, 2-6, etc) to see a new coach on the sidelines*.  I do think if we start out badly they will fire him as soon as the record dips to that point in order to prevent him from going on a run and getting out of reduced buyout territory. 


*Unless some whale booster like Tyson decides he's had enough and wants to foot the bill for the buyout.  And honestly, I'd prefer they just use that money to supplement basketball or baseball payroll and buy us a title opportunity there.

I get that the hate for Sam has clouded judgement here but there are only two 99.9% chance to lose losses on the schedule: Notre Dame and Texas.  All the other games are winnable games.  9 wins isn't impossible.  Anyone that says there are only 5 wins on that schedule is just biased by hate.

Well every year the schedule is pretty tough. Throw in a Notre Dame and it's even tougher. So yes 6 wins at the end of the season I think kicks the can down the road or maybe a strong encouragement to retire gracefully. But again EVERY year it's gonna be a tough schedule so at some point you have to find someone that's going to get the fan base excited enough for panties to drop and money to flow and that aint ever gonna be Sam Pittman. He's kept his job mostly because being average to slightly below average at Arkansas is better than 2 win seasons plus from a financial perspective it's obvious they were willing to bite the bullet and keep him for a while. I'm still somewhat of the mind that Petrino can work his magic and build on last season with this QB that's very much boom or bust. Also fairly confident we'll still be lucky to win 6 games. As the season unfolds shit happens so you never know which team may implode could be us could be someone else.

For us to win more than 6-7 games two things have to happen.  We have to get the majority of the breaks, including officiating going our way, and Sam has to manage the close games well.  What do you think the odds are of either of those happening, much less both?

So just reading an article that looks like we are going to miss out on all five of the top five players in Arkansas this year.  I know recruiting has changed, but how does a less than mediocre coach at Arkansas survive that?

That's enough right there. Can anyone come up with 10 examples in their Razorback lives where we got a break? I'm sure there are some from the good years, so limit it to since we joined the SEC.
