Who ever came up with that idea is a fucking idiot.

On the other hand we'd raise $1MM a game if we rented our paint ball guns to shoot at him during game breaks while he was spewing his nonsense.  That's way better than a 50/50 raffle.

I've told you the problem.  Coaches are paid by the Foundation because state employees are limited to $300k a year max.  So the Foundation pays the coaches.  That means none of our $200 million a year revenue goes to coaches salaries.  So we are always cash poor and reliant on the Foundation which is run like they think the money belongs to them.  So an AD has to hat in hand to do anything.

Unfortunately I think any school needs both a foundation to handle a lot of related activities and a separate NIL fund. I know you will all flame me for saying this, but that is ok.  The Foundation handles ticketing and parking, among many other things, and pays lots of scholarship money.  NIL hasn't done away with those needs.

Flame away, but you know damn good and well I am right.

When Notre Dame went up 35-10 would have been a perfect time for him to yell "Let's call those Hogs!"
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

That begs a question. I haven't given dick to the football program previously but am willing to now. Where will my donation be best used? The issues with the RF are pointed out above. I would think NIL would be the best use but isn't Edge a clownshow? It's kinda sad I even have to ask but I honestly don't know.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

No, I don't know you're right.  It doesn't have to be that way.  It can be do e differently and better.

Agreed.   We don't have to do things the same way as they were always done.

Another big factor in the growth of the foundation (and those at other schools) was that it made it possible to deduct part of your ticket expense from your income tax.  That has been gone since early in Trump's first term.   There is no advantage now to having a separate entity for athletic fundraising.

I'm pretty sure the state has even done away with the limit on salaries of state employees.  The list in the demozette of highest paid state employees contains several over $1MM...including coaches but also a few surgeons from UAMS.

It would make more sense now to just price the tickets according to seat locations.   Treat previous contributions as a personal seat license, and build the cost of the donation into the ticket price.  Allocate parking based on ticket price/quantity
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Oh good.  If that's the case, then there is no reason at all.

I say follow the Kentucky model and make the whole athletic department a separate entity.

I like that as well.   That would John White proof the place, in the event we get another turd like him in charge of the university.

We need a student fee too.  I'm paying $14k a semester for my kid.  A few hundred extra won't bother me and would mean millions more in revenue.

that's been the case for a while but it's something the administration hangs it hat on.

Well, just one more thing they need to change if they are serious.

A $200 fee per semester for 26,000 undergrads would be over $10 million a year.

Why the fuck not? College football is no longer about education. No one gives two shits if the starting center is getting his degree in sociology. Just make it a business and be done with it. The only goals of the football program is to win and make money. If the kid gets their degree, hooray!

Even if you do everything you said, which I don't think would work, you have to have someone to administer all that.  Someone has to assign you to a lot, etc, get the damn little things for your mirror, etc.  Someone has to pay the coaches, and it won't be the state.  Someone has to help organize all the Gameday stuff-- like that stuff on Maple street.  Also all the busses from the parking lots up to the stadium.

Y'all are just wrong.  But I know you will never admit it.

I don't think you realize just how few people they have doing all that stuff.  And the ones they do need could easily transition to the university payroll.  Much of that is already done by university staff or contractors.  Pretty much all of it, actually.

Like you said above, there are only 9000 donors.  Most of those are renewals.

The university already pays a significant part of the salaries.  They already have resources dedicated to payroll...if anything having the foundation paying is creating redundant expenses.

Well, we would have to "agree" to "admit" and we don't so we won't.
