His analysis about Pittman wanting a raise is spot on. I had never thought of that before. As soon as Pittman hired Sexton and demanded a raise, the "Aww Shucks" crap went out the window. You want to be paid like an elite coach, you better start acting like it.

What Adam is saying is true...the proof is in the puddin. When it comes to making the hard call we are getting it wrong far more than right and when right it's really more of a dumb luck kind of thing.

Yesterday's 4th and 1 was a very critical moment in the game if we punt to them they get the ball and march down the field and score. Then get the ball back to start the 2nd half and score again...game over. So I can see the logic. I think it was a back breaker moment though and it was a point in the game where you didn't need that back breaker. Instead we limp dick about as shitty a forth down play execution possible on the wrong side of the field and put our defense in a very shitty position.

Then come out of the half and pick them off to make it a very manageable game in which we're setup well until KJ has the push rush in his face and cannot cleanly get the ball out...also never looked off his primary so the DE is able to get a paw on it and it's ultimately picked off for an easy 6.

It's just bad offense all the way around and without Hasz it's not looking like there is many bright spots. Agree on TeSlaa isn't getting open and thus every catch is an amazing catch because it has to be. Unless we are going to start calling quick hitting stuff it's hard to blame the WRs for not getting open. We are so easy to defend against because everyone knows token pass rush is going to be enough. Nobody really has to send the house against us unless they are bored.

We need to show a pulse against Ole Miss but no way we're going to out score them. They could start 3rd stringers against us and still win by 20 the way it feels right now. We are done.

In the grief cycle right now I think most of us are in the disbelief mode. Next week comes acceptance. Then comes embrace the horror. Then after that it's numb and apathy bending over without having to be asked. The cycle of depression and dismay with this program is easy to spot and hard to fight against because we always win a few games, pay these coaches big money to fail.

Better start looking at who would want to come to this program as a player. We may revert back to getting players with offers from Podunk U. and such. Players want to play for winning teams.

LSU is a one-game aberration that doesn't change the trend.

Agree on TeSlaa isn't getting open and thus every catch is an amazing catch because it has to be.

Teslaa has zero speed and can't get open, and thus every catch looks like a great catch because he's blanketed.

Of course, him being a stereotypical possession receiver doesn't stop Enos from running jet sweeps with him like a dumbass, similar to how he'd try to run them with Keon Hatcher.

I'm not sure how or why people would be in disbelief. As someone who picked 6-6/7-5 I was shocked when I saw people picking us to win 9. 

Even before the season it was obvious we were taking pretty sizable steps back in terms of talent at receiver and offensive line, were breaking in a new green DC, and that Enos was a lazy, uninspiring hire for OC whose system didn't fit the personnel we did have (as Ford wrote about in his preseason piece).

Plus, after Liberty and Mizzou as well as the huge blown leads against Ole Miss and Kansas, it was obvious last year that something was very awry with Pittman's program.

When Vegas was predicting us to win 6, I knew the 8/9 win guys were ODing on Kool-Aid.

I knew something was very wrong after the Liberty game last year.

Someone on here put it best — "Something is very wrong with a program that lost to Liberty and Mizzou and turned a Liberty Bowl blowout into a coin flip win, and I'm not bullish on a 60 year old career assistant with F-U money finding it and correcting it."

Pittman's career as an assistant was pretty lame before Georgia.  Before that his best stint was at NC under Butch Davis and that was pretty mediocre.  Before that he was the OL coach on mostly losing teams for one or two year stints before the whole staff was shitcanned.

It wouldn't shock me at all to see us beat Ole Miss, then turn around and lose to State, Auburn, and Missouri the rest of the way.   We have enough talent to beat anyone left on our schedule.  We have the coaching to lose to any and all of them.

when he ditched the agent who above and beyond to get him an interview to hire jimmy sexton so he could get rich it showed where his mind and his "fire" is.

well, he got his money and the results since speak volumes.
dude is just cashing checks and getting pissy when anyone asks him to explain something like the 4th down call Saturday night even thought he's the highest paid state employee in Arkansas and forgets who's paying for his lake house.
look at his position group of speciality - it's the poorest coached group on the team!
Ask why is he willing to allow that to happen? Sadly, it doesn't seem to bother muchness concern him.
when former players are posting on social media not to rip players, that seems to scream out that the coaches need to held responsible for putting the players in bad to awful positions to begin with!

I could see him walking if it goes south cause he doesn't have the fire or desire to turn it around, but then you know the clown show that runs Arkansas football is (as noted before) is just going to go a courting Gus like it's 1995 all over again!

Kudos to Sam for getting us out of the hole that #Hashtag Dumbass put us in but given the talent that doofus left I guess, but maybe 1) it wasn't that hard because the talent was there and 2) yes, doofus was really that horrible of a coach.

Sam may have pulled us out of the gutter, but if the season ends as badly as it looks like it may, he very will could take us right back there as a job no one wants if enough talent portals.

This could have been a good to great year had he just been willing to pay Briles a little more money.

If history is any indication, the leadership at Arkansas will hire the wrong guy to replace him. Hatfield over Johnson, Nutt over Tuberville, Morris over Norvell, and Pittman over Kiffin, etc.

Throw in a big raise after one mediocre season, and we will be right back here in 4 to 5 years. Wash, rinse, repeat.
