Some of you guys have very short memories. Briles used KJ in shotgun on inches plays. Remember when Arkansas would be running the ball down defenders throats and then we'd screw up our momentum by running a poorly coached and executed trick play? Briles called slow developing plays too.  The team has just gotten worse and worse.

Oh, I don't know.  I'm old enough to remember when in the depths of a miserable season we hired a consultant/analyst to be the actual head coach.  In the end, a consultant/analyst can be anything you want him to be.

If you're a good OC on a bad team you can survive the HC getting fired. Someone will hire you. Hiring a mid-level OC who is lighting it up (like the UNLV guy) isn't a challenge.

Pittman could have hired a good OC after losing Briles. He settled for the lazy choice, as per usual.

Another consideration is that recruiting is getting better and better under Pittman. That's not a small thing, blue chip guys are still the main key to success. To build trust, foundation, and relationships with those guys start young and take time.  But we're still doing well with the portal, inconsistent but more hits than misses.

He made an outstanding hire with T Will and the defensive changes there.

He'll have to make another hire on the offensive side now.

All this tells me is Sam will be back next year.  He is making staff changes, hopefully correcting the problem, and he will be given next year to show that its "them, not me".
