I agree 100%. One of the talking points against him here was that he was going to bolt for higher profile job, but that was never close to happening. If I remember correctly, he wanted a big buyout just as much as the UA did, at least that's what I always heard.

For someone who sounds like he's reading his answers to the media out of a book for the first time, he sounds very genuine and remorseful when he talks about his time coaching here and talking about the players he had.

They would run precise routes.

Probably looking to recommit the WR that de-committed from us last week.  He said we were not out of the game, that he just committed too early.  What was his name?  Cumberland?

it's one hell of a hail mary.

I don't know that it's a one year fix, lots of issues to deal with and first and foremost is the offensive line - which puzzles everyone because that's the one thing that sam brings to the table - and until that gets improved nothing changes.

I would imagine Kennedy going to Miss State is he's being told to find work elsewhere. (And also, what's that say about Lebby for hiring him?? yikes)

Saban still coaches a position so maybe Sam takes on more coaching the o-line because honestly, what do we need him for? He's gotta worse at the press conferences and everything else head coach related.

thanks for posting the presser - if he still has the hunger - and it appears he does - it's time to feed the studs - but we need studs. Also, it looks like this season has aged Sam like a year it does to the President. he didn't look good and it's going to be interesting to see how this relationship works out because BMFP is again the most popular football coach in the state.

does bobby get to remake the offensive staff?

I'm with Dirk - not sure why they didn't trot him out during the game - it would have blown the roof off BWA.

It certainly has a "Danny Ford is just here to shore up special teams" feel to it back in the Joe Kines year.

Guiton was also there. Guess he's staying on as WR coach.

Bumping this back to the top.

Bobby ain't going to tolerate some half-assed message board.

Now that Sam has an experienced  head coaching consultant back, does Bobby need to be near him on the sideline for the guidance or will a headset suffice and put Bobby in the booth. I'm thinking the sideline so that wayward dumbasses, mainly players,(and coaches), can feel the wrath of BMFP's anger when dumbassery happens.

I am glad BMFP is back, but all I can see is two old guys riding off into the sunset with huge paydays. I think both are ready to retire and get out of the drudgery of football things. Hopefully, they have one or maybe two more years of greatness before that happens.

I think in this situation the media is going to dig in deep on questions like who's really running the team etc. It's going to wear thin with Pittman given his thin skin. Bobby may be intentionally put up in the booth to keep his profile a bit lower. He'll cast a large shadow regardless where he's at.

I really think this means nore to Bobby than a payday. He realizes what he screwed up and has something to prove in making it right.

I think Sam genuinely cares about the program and state as well. He wants to leave it better than he found it.

Sam gets to be who he is. The kindly grandpa who truly does care about his kids who can close on the recruiting trail. I think Petrino loves it up there and considers it as close to home as he's ever had. Plus, he's loved up there.
