Nolan should have a statue.  And the court.  And his teams videos playing all the time.  40 minutes of hell is right out of the same book JFB used.  Nolan used it at utep, JFB at Arkansas.  Conditioning, speed, brains, crazy defense.

Those are bygone days now...I don't think "programs" can be replicated like that when the rosters turn over each year.

I appreciate everything Muss did here. That said, the way he handled last year and bolting the way he did says a lot about his character.

Cal is gonna bring in top talent and I think he has a chip on his shoulder from how things unfolded in KY. I'm ready for the season to get here.

I've been saying it for a while, we needed to have a coach move on from successful seasons rather than on bad terms or lack of success. Even though not necessarily green pastures imo for Muss, he left us in a good spot and the stars were aligned with Cal. Just think if Nolan had retired and all that never happened. Would be nice if this was Cals last stop and he went out with a bang.

I'll take what I can get but why not make this an actual home-away series? We still don't have a marquee non-conference home game this year. Besides Oakland, obviously.

I think he will add a decent home non conference game this year. Schedule isn't aet.

I don't think we need a marquee "name" at BWA for this season's non conf schedule. We have plenty high profile games on the road and at neutral sites (Baylor, Illinois, Miami, Michigan). That's already a tough slate and throw in the SEC opponents, we should be set. It's not like we are breaking in a no name coach and 2 star players and are struggling to generate excitement.

looks like there's a two week window between uca and oakland that we could squeeze a game or two in.

I think his tendency to turn the ball over repeatedly and take (and miss) lots of wild shots at inopportune times had a lot more to do with his playing time than his vax status. 

He was a hell of a free throw shooter though.

Nolan Richardson is a living legend. 

I love watching his hall of fame speech "Bird!  Bird! Damn that brother can play!"

He had Bird grinning, Magic and Russell laughing.  Even that little shrew David Stern cracked a grin.

He was bigger than life and he was ours.  No disrespect to Eddie, but he defined our program and our brand.  Even to this day pundits and announcers talk about 40 minutes of hell. 

His teams were beautiful to watch.  Their runs an adrenaline rush I've not felt since.  They kept pouring it on.  The Missouri team they beat 120-68 in 1994 went to the Elite 8!

Seeing him with Cal let's me know Cal gets it.  Cals a genius and it's 2 college basketball godfathers that respect each other. 

I'm 51 years old and I thank God I got to see it all live.  My sister was a little too young and I hate it for her. 

If ever a statue was erected for anyone ever in the state of Arkansas they didn't deserve it as much as Nolan Richardson. 

Damn it University of Arkansas do the right thing and retire Dmacs jersey and honor Nolan. 

And like the poster said anyone who has an issue with that can meet Red Death at any Sonic they choose.

So I did this today (and tomorrow). Outside of the unsatisfying pain in both legs, it's been an awesome experience. Will definitely do it again.

#16 next to Cal. The tall black guy just to the right of half court (2nd row) is Cardale Jones. Pretty good hooper. Bobby Bones is playing as well.
