Bryson was lucky down the stretch, but no more so than Rory. I forget the hole, but the grand stands prevented Rory from going 50+ yards into trouble  and on the next hole, the gallery prevented his ball from going quite a bit further off line and into the woods.

The take away for me was Rory choking in the big moments and to some degree, Bryson stepping up.

His hatred of all things LIV is palpable and it so comes through on the broadcast.

I got so tired of the multiple references to Bryson being "lucky" all broadcast.

Chamblee reminds me of the kid in school who yells and hides behind the cool kids and tries to be cool but is a big puss when he gets called out.

I'm against LIV too but agree that was very noticeable and inappropriate. He was complimentary of Bryson's swing but the other stuff detracted from it.

He damn sure stepped up on that sand shot on 18.  Gotta give him major credit for that.

Golf Digest showed a stat that said that he had a 1.7% chance of getting that ball inside of 4 feet.

Now, I have no idea how you calculate those odds, but regardless, it was incredible!

Definitely luck for both players down the stretch I agree.  Chamblee's overtones just irritate me, it's like "ENOUGH ALREADY!".

I like watching really good golfers play and my preference is PGA.  I've tried watching LIV but I don't like the whole team/individual scoreboard stuff.

Don't know if you caught BD signing that handicapped kid's hat after he made that save on either 15 or 16?  He took a few seconds in a major tournament to make a memory of a lifetime for someone a lot less fortunate than him.  I'm definitely a fan now.

I'm sure a lot of that is just the kind of guy he is, but I also wonder if it's part of the LIV strategy to become more fan friendly.  If so, nice work.

Scheffler kind of proved the point of the guys who went LIV a few years ago.  He talked about how fatigued he was after yesterday's round.  He said he didn't get to prepare like he would have wanted because The Memorial was last weekend and he was not going to miss Jack's tournament.

As much as we like to see the best players play week to week, the greats and potential greats all realize soon enough that they only have so much gas in the tank and begin concentrating on majors.

I'm a PGA guy also, but I also enjoy watching LIV. I'll be in attendance at the LIV event in Nashville this week, can't wait.

Oh and Rory, storming out of Pinehurst declining to speak to anyone or the media. I get the disappointment, but that tells you all you need to know about Rory.

In fairness, Rory had already stopped, high fived the kid and chatted with him on his way through earlier.

Fuck any tour that doesn't like that.

BD rented a house on a culdesac in our neighborhood. When he got home last night the culdesac had decorated his porch with balloons and banners. He got out of the vehicle and spent the next hour partying with the families. Everyone there got to hold the trophy.

Rory got fucked...I guess it was karma for trying to divorce his wife then calling it off. What a douche bag
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

Wolken wrote a column on how Rory is turning into the Greg Norman of this generation.

Tiger's last major win before the '19 Masters was the '08 U.S. Open that he won on a torn knee and played 91 holes at Torrey Pines. He was 32, about to turn 33 that December.

Rory is 35 and while I don't think he's necessarily done winning majors, that might have been his last chance. The fields are so deep now and the fact he's not won a green jacket and now has that epic choke in his memory bank, it's got to weigh heavy on him.

And Rory goes back a long way with that kid, who travels to a lot of tournaments.

I'll defend Rory.

That 3'9" putt was downhill with a major, sharp break in it. Quick as a cat; slick as owl shit. Go back and watch it. It was like trying to make the 8-ball in the side pocket of a 45 degree tilted slate pool table. That was no gimme putt.

I'm a PGA guy, not a LIV guy, and I appreciate how Rory has stood up for the PGA, as opposed to BD going NIL.

I hate it for Rory what happened yesterday. He deserved a better fate, imo. But that's life.

I wouldn't count him out just yet though.
I really don't care, Margaret.

I agree on the scheduling.  Scheffler played like he was tired. PGA needs to do a better job of scheduling.

Yes, I always try to defend him too. It wasn't that putt that was the major mistake, it was the shorter one on 16. And the bad club choice on 15.

Lots of talk that maybe a different caddie might have had more to say there. It's hard to disagree.
