Dumb play when you gotta know you can just keep driving the guy backward until the officials do make it obvious the play is dead. I never heard the whistle though live and it was pretty loud so I assume the player was just playing thru the whistle as they are trained to do.

I don't get why you're running that last play with Hill anyway, or why he's the 2nd back.  Dubinion or even Russell would've been better for short yardage.

Yes played last week a little. Sanders and AJ Green are gone. I think Green went to OK State or maybe it was Tulsa. Sanders to S. Carolina. Also Johnson went to TCU. Dubinion was slowed by injuries in fall practice so I wouldn't count him out just yet.

As I recall under Petrino Mallett and Wilson were getting hit a lot in the chin but those guys were throwing darts down the field and completing a good many of those passes.

I'm guessing the back is supposed to stay in and chip the rusher and that was never happening. In other cases we just didn't have anyone there to account for a LB coming in hot and that's why we have to have sight adjustments and QB has to know where to go with the ball when he sees it.

On 3rd and 14 there watch Jackson again.

He went down and whiffed on his block, and then just stood up with his hands on his hips instead of getting downfield to try to help his scrambling QB.  Totally quit on the play.  That's why we're losing.

Fair point. It is basically reflexive to do what he did since he was behind the guy.

I'm not bashing him, just pointing out that it was ripe for what happened.

I feel like 6 wins keeps Sam another year to see if Petrino can develop Singleton or other plus bring in more talent. Only way Petrino is retained by a new staff would be if it's the DC getting the nod because of youth and what not. 

For Sam it could be a golden parachute thing where we start 2-5 or something and Sam gets to step down gracefully and Petrino gets the rest of the season to "do something". I think we took a timeout at around the 1:30 to go mark and you could see Petrino going over to Pittman and telling him what a panicky dumbass he is.
