Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Jul 31, 2023, 01:10 PMI have to admit I am not outraged because whatever the joke is supposed to be flew completely over my head.  I have no idea what the joke "Nasser was in on the design team" means about Mich. St. uniforms.

Pat McAfee is one of the biggest personalities in all of sports media. The former NFL kicker has recently signed a huge deal with ESPN to air his popular podcast "The Pat McAfee Show" and a permanent gig on hit program College Gameday.

But, that may all be going away after Pat McAfee tweeted out one of the most unhinged, off-the-mark, and uncalled-for jokes you will ever see.

In case the tweet gets deleted in the future, McAfee's account replied to a picture of newly released alternate uniforms for the Michigan State football team with "I think Nassar was in on the design team actually".

Granted, I haven't seen the uniforms. But unless there's a finger hole in the crotch, I don't get the joke either.

I had forgotten who Nassar was till I googled him.

I still don't see why this is so controversial.

McAfee is annoying as hell. maybe ESPN is trying to get out of his contract and this gives them the perfect way to do it.

McAfee's explanation.

He has a friend who is a Michigan State alum or fan, and regularly tweets at him. He always includes something about Nassar in the tweet just to be annoying. Here, he was saying that the uniforms are so terrible, that the most terrible person involved with Michigan State must have designed them.

Weak effort regardless.

So did anyone get this upset when everything related to Penn St was met with a Sandusky reply a few years ago?  Not exactly a fan, but I find PMc amusing now and then. Snowflakes/Twitter police need to cool their jets a little.

FSU is getting antsy, Big 10 having discussion about more possible expansion into Pac 12, Arizona being awfully quiet about its commitment to Pac 12/11/10/9, and its 135 degrees outside. College football Ragnarok may be upon us.

I like it...I like it a lot.

BigXII likely to add Arizona, Arizona St, and Utah to go along with Colorado. Would put them at 16 members.

BigTen likely to add Oregon and Washington to go along with USC/UCLA. Would put them at 18 members.

It might be time to change their names.

this is all going to end with two or three conferences with sub-divisions that are as big as conferences used to be twenty years ago. We'll come full circle within a decade.

And in the last 30 minutes it sounds like they're all staying put.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

as of half an hour ago, oregon and udub are officially joining the b10*. stay tuned for more indecision.

There's no way the Big 12 would have taken Cincy and maybe a couple others had they known they would be raiding the PAC4 in a few months.

All we can do is tweet to numb the pain.  College sports has been sacrificed in the name of football.

The best part is a couple of years ago they were sneering about which oi the religious schools in the Big 12 were beneath them and not worthy of invites.

I hope Stanford and Cal enjoy that Mountain West action.  I hear Nevada-Reno is going to be tough this year.
Splash 11! drop ABE track, too confusing

For basketball I could see these remaining PAC4's to go to the WCC or maybe merge with the WCC. That would almost make some kind of sense.

I doubt the MWC conference would take them just for football though. Maybe they would.

The AAC might be a possibility expanding for football into a mega shit conference...they take partial members no problem.

Stanford and Notre Dame will form a 2-team superconference and continue their annual rivalry.

Stanford is really out on an island with no help in sight.  Luckily for them, they have plenty of really rich alums.  Most don't care anything about football, but they will step up to protect the "name."

The Big 10 would take them (and probably Cal) just to keep up the illusion of academic supremacy.
