We're going to have to overpay in one year or three years.  It won't matter.  The only way we get someone good is with a complete house cleaning and overhaul.  Not only do we have to get someone else making the decisions we have to show our commitment to the college football world, potential coaches, and fans that we are serious and intend to do things differently from here on out.  Nothing else will work. 

It will be a symbolic tear down to the studs and rebuild of the program.  That's all that's left to do and it must be done whether we start tomorrow or three years from now.  The longer we delay, the longer we suffer.

Again all of these are wonderful ideas but they take money.  Lots of it.  Like $100 mil in nil, buyouts, salaries, staffing.  That ain't happening.  Ptb wouldn't give hy a few mil to make Sam go away.  Won't get better. All those Texas kids coming to NWA remains fans of the schools they grew up loving like Texas and A&M

This is a valid point, also don't discount the fact that most of that new population in NWA is not from Arkansas. Razorback fandom is just not in their blood, when times are tough they find other things to do.

It really isn't fair to Silverfield and the players (as long as the players are trying).  Now I know the game this weekend is Georgia so we are likely to get killed.  Let's see what happens next week against Tulsa.  I realize that is a pretty low bar but you have to start somewhere.

The "no one will come here" argument is ridiculous.

The last 3 coaches we hired for real for real are Chad Morris, Sam Pittman, and Ryan Silverfield.

We weren't getting good coaches even without scaring them away.

Scaring someone good away is the least of our concerns.

We've also had a chud of an AD trying (and failing) to sell our job to candidates.

Yurachek sucks at the interpersonal connection aspect of hiring coaches. Who the hell would want to work for him?

Our job has enough downsides by itself without taking into account a stupid, weak, feckless coward of an AD.

Totally see your point.  However, I have no problem with a CEO type coach, so long as he has excellent coordinators.  That's what that type needs.  Our CEO coaches have NOT gotten that, with the notable exception of BPs return under Sam.  Our Offense was good, and getting better, but our D was shit because... shitty DC, that was fired.

I don't think Ryan Silverfield regressed over the summer so much that he's completely useless. Perhaps the tour de Arkansas trying to get things organized, drumming up support for the program, coordinating with traffic control, changing the light bulbs...whatever it takes took a toll. He didn't know what was coming...he thought he did but he didn't. What is important now is how does he respond? Can he manage to salvage something out of this season or is it as doomed as it appears. We are out gunned in nearly every contest we'll play from this point forward so good luck with that. Personally I'd try to find something these boys are good at that doesn't involve being on their back and maybe work from there.

RS promised since Day 1 to control the controllables. So far, he has failed miserably; technique, hustle and turnovers are on par with last season.

He has a reputation for being detail-oriented so it's hard to believe he hasn't noticed the "detail" that his offensive linemen continue to stand straight up, miss assignments and abandon basic techniques taught since junior high or that his receivers cut off/improvise routes, loaf downfield when not lined up play side and telegraph run/pass by their very body language or that his OC continues to scheme plays that his starting QB is incapable of executing reliably.

The math ain't mathin'.
