Despite the one Liberty loss, Pittman and his team beat all the other cup cakes.  BYU, this season, is a cup cake.  It may be ugly, but we win. 

The real question is will we start consistently beating the middle pack SEC teams.  Can we steal one against an Alabama or Georgia? 

After watching many games Saturday, I think we have as much coaching and player talent as most of the SEC. 

I'm bullish on this season.

We should have lost to Missouri State, bumblefucked our way to a loss against Liberty, and pissed away what should have been a win against Mizzou because we were lazy walking into that game.

In 2021 we fucked around and looked terrible against Rice the week before Texas came to Fayetteville (we were trailing by 10 in the 3rd quarter).

I like Pittman but he has a pretty lousy track record of having us completely unprepared to play lesser opponents and overlooking them ahead of big games. We should win this weekend, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if we fuck around and lose because we're too busy thinking about LSU.

This is where I think back to the ass chewing Mike Leach gave his last Texas Tech team about thinking they were hot shit and "too good to play Baylor" and ultimately fucking around and finding out.

Yep. It's funny because they not only won the game, but had a pretty good season (8-4, 5-3 in conference) and had just won that game.

I love the part where he goes "so we're a little too good to play Baylor? Fuck us. That ain't true." 

Sam needs to echo those words after we fuck around in a game where we think we should just be gifted the W because we should be better.

I watched many before that (if that tells you how old I am). An example would be when we had BMFP as coach. It was us, LSU, and Bama as the top three. And guess who was first out. Two teams better than we were and they both beat us in the west. And we were good. Just one example.

True, you have suffered longer, but we peaked, never to get that point again, when we were up 14-0, sometime about halfway through the first game I ever saw, when I was 8, and we never have really been near that point again and I am 62.

That, and I am afflicted with spates of silly optimism apparently more often than you, so my suffering is greater.

Now I am sounding like a liberal in a "Who's the biggest martyr?" contest.  I figure the last 10 or so years of rooting for us and GT has me close, although I rarely can muster expectations for GT.

If you think about this team in the context of leadership it's clear Sam is not the leader of this team...it's ride or die with KJ

With that comes a very chill if not laziness that carries over to the entire offense.

I know he was probably coached to do it but running out of bounds multiple times last night on his own accord is one example. There is a time to NOT do that and later in that game he had a decent gain and could have went for more and didn't. Perhaps he's already fucked up on the season.

The whole "guiding the ball" talk....that's probably something Enos has worked with him on to improve location of the ball it's coming at the expense of speed. No way KJ plays in the NFL with that slow fucking read and delivery.


Anyway I don't want to shit on KJ...overall his line can't block for shit and we are getting nothing from the skill guys.
