They were within 30-27 with a chance to stop us (or us to stop ourselves). The game thread had it in definite doubt at that point.

Dilfer expects the Razorbacks, coming off a heartbreaking loss to Oklahoma State, will be angry and ready to go for their first home game of the season.

Maybe we will hire that fancy expensive coach y'all want if we have more money?  That's not illogical.

But look how that has worked out for Florida and A&M.  And we aren't too sure about LSU, and South Carolina, and others.

There are only a handful of pricey coaches we could hire that would move the needle.  That's probably not the way to go.

But if that opportunity did provide itself, the money is there to do it without expecting 10,000 Hog fans to give $1200 per year.  They can afford it more than the fan base can. 

Ole Miss went in the hole to hire and extend Kiffin, and to get their collective off the ground.  It's more than paid off for them.  The SEC doesn't award trophies for who has the biggest cash reserves.

And there is no real reason to believe that we have a large cash reserve, that I know of. But that is beside the point.  Hiring coaches for any school is a very iffy proposition.  Charlie Strong looked like a great hire at Texas at the time he was hired.  (by the way, Texas could have easily given up on Sark, but look where they are now).  Napier and Norvell both looked like home runs.  Gus looked like a sure winner at Auburn. (Not the first time that has happened at Auburn).

Awfully easy to say "fire the coach";  not so easy to find someone who will do better.  And it's easy to say "we could've had Kiffin" but there is no guarantee he would have fit in well at Arkansas.
