earning and providing as much as you can is literally the american way. it's not greed. how many don't aspire to do the exact same thing?

he's 4-3, why would he quit now? if he tanks, he'll get canned before the missouri game. if he has a chance to go to a bowl, regardless how meaningless, he gets to choose at the end of the season.

a shitty bowl game in year 5 is not where the program needs to be. i'm sure he knows that and it's why i think something will be worked out and he moves on if that happens.

Fall is a great time to go to the lake.

I said "If" he doesn't go to the lake at the end of the year.  He has checked out.  I don't expect him to quit this second, but if at the end of the year he doesn't go, then yeah, he is all those things.

And, no "earning" for a job you're not willing to actually do, is not the American way.  Let's see what happens.

How do the commissions work for the agent representing a coach? If Sam were to say "fuck it, I'm not getting it done, here's my resignation, effective at the end of this season."  Could Sexton then come after him for Sexton's lost earnings on Pittman's contract?  I have no idea how that sort of thing works.
Never squat with your spurs on!

vegashog

no, the agent has no say in when a coach calls it quits.

sexton's, or any other agent, fees are based on earnings, not length of contract. unless it's fully guaranteed which in that case the agent gets his off the top.

No, the original quote was right.

Medicore is consistent 6-6.

That's not us; we're well below that, but we'll reward you for getting us there.

Quote from: Show-Me Hog on Oct 21, 2024, 07:30 PMSo was Tennessee. So was A&M. No, that doesn't explain the complete lack of answers on either side of the ball.

What answers are you talking about. We're really not that bad of a team. We don't turn the ball over as much as we do, we are 6-1 right now.

Almost the same could be said of Auburn, and without their turnovers we would not have won that game.

The last 20 years we are 121 - 126.

Yet we look down our noses at programs like State, Mizzou, and Ole Miss with an undeserved sense of superiority.

Would the TOs be attributed to players or coaching or preparation?

"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

how would a fumble or int be anyone else's problem but the players. there's not one staff that doesn't teach ball security, especially petrino. coaching wasn't the reason dubinion fumbled or green threw that terrible int, or setegna fumbled against lsu.  dropping 3 interceptions wasn't on the staff.

talent just doesn't include the physical part of the game. making the right reads, take what given to them, and don't turn the ball over are all signs of a talented team.

"complete lack of answers on either side of the ball" referenced the LSU beat down.

We had no answer on defense. Their penalty after penalty after penalty and settling for numerous FGs is the only thing that slowed them down.

We had no answer on offense. They stuffed our running game then pinned back their ears to snuff out our passing game. That's direct analysis from Brian Kelly.

We had a couple of turnovers and the one by the goal line hurt, but we were losing this game regardless.

The Whyte Boar

I think we lose that game most of the time even if we play "perfect" but LSU didn't really stop our running game.  Our turnovers, particularly the last interception and score, and lack of defense put us in the position of having to go away from the run game. Once we became one dimensional based on how far we were down and the time left, they sent the house.

Such a dumb question. Yeah, coaching and preparation are attributing to all of the TO's.

This is the bull shit that our fans do. Do you really think, any coaching staff in America, doesn't preach about not turning the ball over?

Our fans are so stupid.

Naw man, some guys just manage to recruit teams who consistently execute and don't turn the ball over.  Nothing a coach can do about that.  Players are born knowing how to execute and how not to turn the ball over.  You can't hold a coach responsible for that.
