But we are moving the ball between the 20s and converting 3rd down. We have guys opens and there's opportunities. Taylen just isn't seeing them.

Green was GREEN COMING HERE.  I think Petrino has done a good job with him and the rest of the offense;  the line is much improved...our defense schemes well and is coached up...


No moral victories but Texas a and m is really good football team...super good up front..both sides

I get the yearning for years of old....but we just took a huge step forward.   I don't know if we can keep williams and petrino...but i'd feel good having those two....no matter who the head coach is

As long as Sam is coach, we'll always lose two to three games we shouldn't.  You're right.  This team is a much better team.  It's a nine win team that is going to struggle to get six or seven.

The question for you is, if you realize it isn't going to work ever, do you settle for substandard performance because you're afraid to make a change?  And besides, I almost one hundred percent guarantee that if Sam is back, both coordinators won't be.

I agree with that...Williams is going to continue to be a hot commodity.  Not sure what the viewpoint is on Petrino...i think the guy can still coach..not sure if he's still viewed in that manner.

If that's the case, it most definitely is time to move on..

Petrino will probably be back if he wants to be, but Williams should move while the getting is good if he has the opportunity.  For every hot young assistant on the move, there are half a dozen that stayed somewhere a year or two too long and missed the chance of a lifetime.

To borrow a baseball metric, Sam is a negative 2-3 WAR coach.

In 2022 we were a 10 win team but won 7.

In 2023 we were 6 or 7 win team but won 4.

This year we should be 6-1 but are sitting at 4-3.

I'm willing to lose T-Will and BMFP if it means lancing the boil that is Pittman.

Those two are good in their own right but not enough to overcome the lazy ineptitude infecting our program with Sam at the helm.

And let's be honest for a minute. T—Will has had a couple of good games but has also laid a couple of turds too. The BYU, Florida, Auburn, and Mizzou games last year were terrible defensive efforts. The second half of the OSU game this year sucked, and the entirety of the LSU game was one big "WTF??" when it comes to game plan.

I yield to few in my love of Petrino, but I also think his offense is too complicated for modern college players (not to mention the transience because of the portal). College offenses now are all about simplicity. Green has all world athleticism but maybe doesn't have it between the ears to run Petrino's offense (not sure many do). One wonders what Green could do in a simpler scheme.

I do think it matters what kind of offense we run. Green is awful but he doesn't have time with the Zero-line that is in front of him regardless.

This Indiana guy seems like the type that will sit on IU and make them a consistent bowl eligible team. I don't think he's looking to just take our free money.

don't see the guy leaving after only one year. he'll work this season into a contract extension anyway.

I'm not entirely sold on T-Will which is why he should go now if he has the chance.  He has been getting a lot of love this year.  It would be really hard to increase his stock here at Arkansas.  Go, before the bloom comes off the rose.

Petrino?  If we hire Odom, good chance Petrino stays.  But, it doesn't matter that much one way or the other.  I love him and would like to see Green with another year under Petrino, but not  enough tk keep Sam around just for that.

I like T-Will.  Thought he did a good job last year, think he's doing a good job this year.  He may never get his dick rode as hard as the commentators did during the LSU game so if he has eyes on a bigger prize this year might be a great chance for him to bail.  He can still claim that injuries and being saddled with the SEC's whitest safety hurt his defense.

Should we name him head coach in waiting, as some message boarders have insisted?  Absolutely not.
