As I think I said on here yesterday, Green is to be congratulated for a great game yesterday. He actually threw a couple of receivers open-- like on that pass to the end zone. 

But of course I remain skeptical because MSU was missing 3 (or maybe 4) of its best defensive linemen, and Green had plenty of time to throw it on most plays.  Let's hope he can have a similar game against Ole Miss, which has a good defensive line.

His throwing mechanics still stink a lot of times but he seemed to be seeing the field well enough yesterday to make up for it.  I think someone said in the game thread at one point that we had so many open receivers he was confused about which one to throw to.

I think yesterday just gives a vision of what can be with Green. We won't block that great against the better portion of the league but if we can block "better" than we have he's going to put up some decent numbers. As has been pointed out by many Youtube reviewers Green's decision making has been slow and often times the plays were there despite the pressure. The A&M game is a great example of this...he had guys open he just wasn't seeing it or pulling the trigger.

That pass to Anthony was a great pass but against a better defense that's probably challenged if not picked off...the corner let the dude get over the top. It was a good play design though and looked like Bobby forced it to where the safety had to honor a player...maybe it was a TE. Which left Anthony inside seem and the other safety late to get over there. I think Green knew where he was going from the time the ball was snapped.

All in all there were plays I haven't seen a college QB make since Lamar Jackson yesterday...just sayin. I'm sure Penix made some dandy plays last season but I didn't see him much.

The one that really hit me yesterday was a wheel route.  I can't remember if it was Dubinon or Russell, but if Green threw the ball on time he would have scored.  Instead, Green threw it late and off his back foot.  It was still a nice gain, but a good throw on time and we score.

Still, I can take those sorts of plays if he just doesn't throw 2 INTs a game and have a fumble.

I've wanted him gone, but if he could bring this staff back, I'd really like to see this offense next year.  I feel like he will  have to get a new DC, but I'm not as high on TWill as some. We might actually improve there.

if he gets to 7 regular season wins that means he finishes no worse than .500 in conference so i'm not sure why he would leave unless he really wants to.

and imo the staff would be just as responsible for that happening as pittman, so yeah, i'd like to see most everyone return.

Sam gets a fully guaranteed adjustment of his salary. More or less a mutually parting as head coach but staying on staff in some capacity...win win. In a quasi way this is what Jerry Kill is doing at Vanderbilt.

I think if he gets us to 7+ wins, it's a great opportunity for him to ride off into the sunset and cement a positive legacy of being the "savior" who got our program out of the depths of hell and returned us to respectability.

But because we're Arkansas and can't have nice things, I fully expect the worst and for Pittman to return in 2025, it go tits up, and once again for our program to be an afterthought in the coaching market.

saw a segment on the sec network with mullen talking about him meeting with petrino. maybe 10 days or so ago. petrino told him he's happy where he is, wants no part of the portal and how nil is currently. i personally see no reason why he keeps repeating that unless it was true.

If I was 62 years old and had made $30 million dollars or so in the last five years, I guranfuckingtee you I would "walk away" from $6 million a year for one of the hardest and most stressful jobs on the planet.  Coaching in the SEC is the kind of job that takes years off of your life.  Take a nice, but reduced buyout, another years salary or so, and head your ass to the lake where you will still be popular and welcomed in all the nice spots.

I think that's going to become more common. Petrino is on record as saying he loves being an OC because he can "just coach ball." Usually I call BS on those types of comments, but I take him at his word give that coaching has had a complete paradigm shift with NIL and the portal.

Chip Kelly left the HC job at UCLA to be an OC at Ohio State because he hated what college coaching had devolved into.

Bobby doesn't want to be a HC again. He said that when he was hired. He just wants to coach offense.

Bobby won't be the next HC.
