saw a segment on the sec network with mullen talking about him meeting with petrino. maybe 10 days or so ago. petrino told him he's happy where he is, wants no part of the portal and how nil is currently. i personally see no reason why he keeps repeating that unless it was true.

Is it only the HC involved in payment and NIL matters? Why would the OC (and DC) not be involved?

I do note that when hired, he said he didn't know what anybody got paid at A&M, when he was OC there also.

I more or less believe Petrino but then again, that's pretty much what I would say in his position regardless.  The old Petrino at least, would be so OCD that he wouldn't be able to take watching someone do something worse than he felt he could do it himself.

Gumms was supposed to be this great pickup last year and never did jack shit. He had nearly 500 yards and a few TDs in his freshman season at North Texas, yet he couldn't see the field here, even last year after Hasz went down. To borrow a bit from John McKay's idiom, he was bad at blocking but made up for it by being bad at catching.

Washington showed some flashes but never really put it together here. He was a liability blocking and his production in the passing game never materialized.

Yes. Gumms was all conference in 2022 at North Texas but didn't piss a drop here in 1.5 seasons. Washington was supposed to be a prototypical move TE but never really took off and got overshadowed by Hasz.   

I still hate to lose Washington simply for depth purposes. Hasz's back is an issue, and he always seems like he's one tackle away from being down for the count.

So Pittman apparently has a plan to sit Kutas one more game-- I am guessing La Tech-- so he can use this as a redshirt year, because he won't have played in more than 4 games.  Bowl games don't count, so he can play in that, assuming there is one.

Not a bad idea.  The kid couldn't play because of injury the first 7 games.

Not a bad idea at all. Kutas was our highest graded blocker against MSU. Not a bad idea to try to get him another year.

Doubt he's in the poors, being from Germantown, but big money talks. He wanted to play for the Hogs. Wasn't about the money.

Just listened to Pittman's Ole Miss presser and he explicitly addressed this.

Pittman to Kutas, "now I ain't trying to redshirt you for someone else."

Kutas, "no coach I wouldn't do that. I'm a Hog."

Of course, Kutas can be right as of now but things can change when green comes a callin.

Part of the issue with Sam.  He thinks the college game is still 1997.  Players actually going to a school for 4 or 5 years.  Saving a player for next season or one after that like a pack of Now n Later ain't exactly hip to the realities.

he might be a priority for arkansas, but i don't see him being one for another team, especially for any kind of serious nil money.
