I don't blame HY on this.  At the time of the contract it wasn't that out of whack for a guy showing he could compete in the SEC.  Beat fucking pedophile Joe Pa assholes.  Stoops, lane, others getting $9m a year. 

The buyout is standard boilerplate with mitigation required.  It's not sexton's fault, he repoed his contract.  I wish for a coach claiming this is his last gig the buyout had been limited to a year.  He would have signed.  He wouldn't leave.  But it is hindsight. 

The blame on all this is no one other than fucking Sam and the fact he basically quit as soon as he signed. I worked for a dude that had a contract, that a naive owner agreed to, that got sideways soon after joining and shutdown for the duration of his deal.  It sucked. 

Fucking Sam Pittman is a fucking tent preacher televangelist do nothing shit for brains.  I hate I bought in.  I hate he has the drop on HY.  I wish the ptb had given hy the backing to negotiate a retirement exit with a nice package all the way to firing with full mitigation to firing with cause and letting him sue.  HY should pack up and leave.

I've been clicking on this thread all day for that reason.  The future looks bright.  Recruiting is going to suck, will lose what good players we have to the portal, win 1 game next year against UAPB, and then open the 2025 football season with a loss to Arkansas State.

agreed. The university makes shameless amounts of money off student athlete jerseys and gear even those sports the university doesn't even help financially so fuck them. They can pay. If they can sue anyone and send cease and decist orders every time woopig used to do shirts then they can go fuck themselves and pay the coaches salary somehow

Taxpayers don't pay but the $170 million we make every year is "state" money and a coach is a "state" employee and thus, most of that $170 million cannot be used for coaches salaries over the maximum salary of a state employee at $500k or whatever it is forcing the school to rely on the Razorback Foundation for coaches' salaries.  It was a model that worked well at Arkansas when a coach could be had for two or three million, not so much when the market is seven to ten million.

I don't think Yurachek deserves any hate in this whole thing.  We've been a clusterfuck for long enough that I have no reason to not believe any stories of any PTB meddling or demanding that the next coach be Malzahn if Yurachek wants to make a change. 

Why?
he is the one who gave pittman an extension with a hefty buyout that favored the coach over the school when:
1) no one was even attempting to interview pittman for any job
2) pittman said it would be his last job.
3) he talked all the shit about buyouts needing fixed and firing a coach for cause should be real.

if he was naive enough to think that 9 win season with that many super seniors was the start of a trend by a 2nd year head coach in the SEC then maybe he is in over his head too.

why did the take Sam and Hunter together to fire Enos? Why is the AD even having to be involved with the head coach's staff decisions?
What was Sam's pitch to hunter to buy another year? and why couldn't Sam lay that out in the post-Mizzou press conference when asked?

I think hunter has gotten too close to the forest to see the trees. seems he's always in the locker room pictures and videos before and after games and on the sideline during games and is more active on social media being a cheerleader than Long was.


maybe if NIL is such an issue those two should donate some of their $1 million plus salaries toward it instead of imploring a fan base of which 90 percent probably make 50% or less of what they make to pony up. 

this is where college coaches/admins are out of touch - they don't have to pay for tickets/parking/food/ anything. they have no idea the time and money it takes to be a fan because they haven't had to pay for shit in over 20 years.

That was a long bit of drivel to say that you don't believe the PTB in the background have and will continue to fuck things up.  For all I know he gave the contract and buyout to help Sam with recruiting, like every school that doesn't want to appear to have a lame duck coach does, with the assurances that the money there to back it up... only to have it rug pulled late this season.  At the time us hopeful idiots thought maybe Sam could continue with an 8-9 win ceiling which was good enough after the desert that was the Bert and Chad years. 

You want to find a bogeyman, start with the Razorback Foundation, and line Varady up against a post.

And also yes, I haven't been to a game in years mainly because I don't want to spend the money to listen to shitty honky tonk music while we are supposed to do the hog call for some old donors.  The stadium atmosphere is bad enough that, compounded with the shittier product on the field, there just isn't any way to reason spending that kind of money.

Don't get me wrong...at the time Pittman probably showed he deserved a raise for taking Chad's players and turning them into winners and fighters for a season. That 9 win season felt fucking good after the horror so take a victory lap coach...no take two. Ok now you can stop. 

He then turned around and derped it up all last season to the tune of 6-6 mainly because we couldn't protect KJ. Capping that with a near loss to rising Kansas. So 7-6 on the year. Liberty bowl win yaw. Ok I'll take it. 

This season we couldn't catch any breaks...lost to BYU and Miss State were the real killers. We should have won those games and didn't. That was a lack of leadership from the head coach and the men on the field. We win those games and there is grumbling about being 6-6 again. Shades of Bert blah blah but we're talking about which shitty bowl we're going to and not questioning why someone hasn't sent Pittman out a airlock. Add in this season saw our first shot in YEARS where Alabama looked human. We fucked it up and didn't win. Fucked up LSU. Pissed down our legs against a shitty Auburn team. Beat a non-bowl Florida team on the road. Pissed down our legs some more against Mizzou. You entered the season with a sure-fire 1000 yard back(s) and a senior QB that's had some really good stat lines thru his career. The defense was improved. We had a really good kicker. There was literally no excuse to go 4-8.

This staff got fucking lazy and thought they NILed they asses into some real talent is what it really comes down to. It was they that introduced the notion that the defensive line was the Philadelphia Eagles Lite. It was they that pimped and hyped the fuck out of this team suggesting they would win 8+. That was the expectation.

Y'all can absolve HY if you want, but I blame him for the buyout. There was absolutely ZERO need for it. Who in their right mind could think someone would hire him away from us?

I certainly don't think HY should be fired, but he should bare a big brunt of the blame for this dumpster fire we currently have.
