It's Monday morning and Cody Kennedy is still employed.  It's also taken teams less time to hire and fire their head coaches than it has for us to replace an OC.

The players in the locker room might like the hire of Guiton to OC...but they don't really count. KG aint moving the needle with the fiscally responsible movers, shakers, and fans. They pretty much have to hire a real OC with experience.

So realistically with this head coach (if you want to call him that) he's likely going to be stubborn and hire someone and try to fit him in with the existing pool of offensive assistants. On one hand under Briles most of this staff seemed pretty ok ish. We ran the ball well. We threw the ball great. We scored points. The biggest complaint with Briles was the dip shit play calling at weird times. Enos fucked all of that up badly or at least that's what we are to believe at this point because it couldn't possibly be because of the horrible misses in recruiting prior to the arrival of Enos.

Our TE talent/production clearly increased under Enos/Turner...we can build on that provided Hasz/Washington come back. Reminder Washington wasn't sniffing the field the first several games of the season. He was pressed into action after a couple of the transfers sucked along with Bax also sucking. Easter I assume is still on the roster and may factor in next season. Hiring a OC that doesn't forget about this position will be optimal.

We've likely found our future feature back in Augustive. Green and the love affair with Dubinion is about over. I bet we see both portal. I'd rather see Agustive and a DJ getting a lot of looks next season along with maybe another portal/high grade freshman.

Wide Out...I'd like to see Armstrong back. Beyond that it's anyone's guess but we'll need a lot of portal help. Sategna is so small...not really buying him as a legit SEC player. Mbake will be back but nobody really knows if the guy is going to piss a drop or not. That other kid (McAdoo) that was switched to DB a year ago that ended up getting his neck broke in a car wreck...dont know his future status but it's possible they work him in as a WR moving forward. If he's able to go he'd be an electric player no matter what side of the ball he's on.

Quarterback: No fucking clue. It's weird not wanting KJ back because the body of work. Sure he's all time this and that. He's not a pro QB and if he is someone has a lot of explaining to do because he's looked like hot trash for the last year. Really last season for a lot of that season he was either hurt or just going on raw athletic ability. He's regressed under two OCs. At some point you just have to recognize that our all-time QB is that way because he wasn't bright/good enough to move to the next level sooner or at all. So assuming he's gone on to learn the TE position. I'm not optimistic that the kid from Morrilton is the deal. We've passed on better instate high school talent over the last year for reasons that escape me. Oh year our staff is fucking awful.

We've already taken enough time for Marion at UNLV to get a lot more attention.  If Faulkner is our guy (maybe he still is and I'm wrong here) we should have dropped the teaser last night about the new OC introduction today.  I don't trust Sam to not wait until today to start interviewing candidates.

Dubinion can go.  During the BYU game he laid down on a critical block that cost us a sack late in the game in the red zone.  Didn't get beat on the block, just laid down.

Looks like they have zeroed in on Marion.  He'll have better options and will not sign on for a spare deckchair on the Titanic.  So, we need someone quick.  I predict Marion strings us along until Wednesday or so before turning us down...causing Sam to panic and hire the one guy he knows will take the job and be here before the sun sets.

- Former S&C coach was stirring shit up in the locker room, and it's his fault we lacked team chemistry in 2022 and sucked in short yardage situations.
- Briles was the reason for our red zone failures and (partially) our defensive woes.
- Enos's fault he ran an offense ill-suited for our personnel, and it's his fault he didn't run the same offense we practiced.
- Kennedy's fault our OL took a step back.

Remind me, who is the common denominator who hired (and is supposed to oversee) all those guys?

I think coaches like working for Pittman (like Bielema) because he is buddies with them and sets low expectations.

A guy like Saban or Petrino wears them out, squeezes every ounce of potential work out of them and sets expectations that if not met get you canned.

I guess for Pittman when you set that low bar then you make them easy targets and in the long run, those assistants are far worse off because of it.

It's a New Years Day staple at our house passed down from my grandparents. That and ribs in the crockpot with sauerkraut. My wife and I love it, kids hate it.

Regarding the OC, I found it interesting the announcers during the Mizzou travesty mentioned a couple formations we ran were similar to what the UNLV OC runs. Like a bug was put in their ear about getting him as our OC.
