We did get one pretty good middle sized guy in Sorey, but the next time he takes a good angle on a blitz will be the first.

My preseason prediction was 4-8 with wins over the usual suspects plus MissState.

The close loss to eATMe and the win at Auburn gave me a glimmer of hope and the win over the Vols gave me visions of Hope her own damnself.

Then LSU and Ole Miss pulled our pants down, took off their belts and whipped our ass in front of God and country.

So, now I'm back in the land of reality with a raw ass and the slightly comforting thought that--unless we step on our own dick against LaTech--we'll finish 6-6 and get to go to Fred's Discount Furniture Bowl on December 9th.

All this to say, I'm grateful to Sam for bringing us from where we were to where we are but he has long since banged his head against his own ceiling and it's time for him to move on.

This is about my stance as well. I think it's time to go. I don't hate him and don't want to but the game has passed him by. He's made more money here than he ever dreamed of of before we pulled up our skirt. Even though this season is going about how I thought it would, it's just prolonging the inevitable. Hopefully, he would negotiate a reasonable buyout, but he won't.

I don't understand anyone still dickriding T-Will as a serious option, at least not at this point in his career.  If we were a top-4 SEC defense just out scheming every opponent then maybe I'd change my tune.  12th in the SEC last year and 15th this year ain't cutting it, no matter how much I want him to be a success here.  It has to be Bobby's job to turn down first.

Personally, I think we should revisit my idea of Bobby just executing a hostile takeover of the Athletic Department and declaring himself our Caesar.

You couldn't get anyone to say they wanted to keep Briles. His red zone play calling was atrocious. Play calling has not been our problem this year. We're putting up 33ppg with arguably the worst OL in the league.

And our QB play has been...not great and yes that falls on Petrino.  The playcalling has be FAR better than the execution.  We have dudes running wide fucking open very often and they don't get the ball.  Improved QB play and we are probably 2TD/game better.

That's the story of our offense.

We have guys open and our QB either can't hit them or simply doesn't seem them.

Recruiting Green in the first place is on Petrino, but as of now he's simply a faster KJ with a better personality and leadership abilities.

I don't want to dunk on the kid, but we've won 4 FBS games this year and he's been ass in almost all of them. He didn't play for the crucial parts of our biggest win (Tennessee). He was ass during the Auburn and UAB games. The only game he's looked good in was the Mississippi State game, and they're the worst defense in the country by a mile.

I'm at the point where I think we sell out for the future and start giving Singleton first team reps.

Not to be a Petrino apologist, but I do think he's probably been hamstrung by some of Pittman's reserved policies/personality whatever. Could BP at the helm be the difference in another win or two this year, I'd like to think so. But, I don't think he's the answer as next HC, unless it's interim.

There is still a policy problem with hiring BP again as head coach.  I have forgotten the details, but it seems like it is something about him not being rehired in his old position since he was canned for cause. 

Could floating TWill's name as head coach simply be a way around that?  Not at all sure. 

I just wonder if Bobby really wants the head job back.  He's definitely mellowed, is making good money, and seems happy where he is.

I'd like to see some "continuity" on offense with Petrino back next season. I don't really care if the HC and DC are here though. I'm not convinced Petrino wants the HC gig but a year under Pittman has to be making him rethink some of those things or it's solidifying how fucked the job has become. We'll know more about that in the coming month or two.

We'll never know if we can't protect him any better than we are...that being the biggest failure of this head coach being his lines all suck and pretty always did with the exception of maybe one or two seasons under Bert.

He was very good in the MSU game, when we did control the line of scrimmage.

We would not have lost to Ok St. He's a stickler for details and demands perfection, which Sam does not. It was a comedy of errors that cost us that game. It wouldn't have happened under a hard-nosed, demanding coach.

If he loves the UofA as much as he says he does, he's probably just as pissed as the rest of us at the poor job the HC is doing...
