Quote from: DRYANKNPULL on Nov 05, 2024, 09:56 AMThat is the answer. Make sure their record shows that can win (and not just because they had a Matt Jones or Darren McFadden). We have to find somebody with a chip on their shoulder that is out to prove something, not somebody looking for a retirement check.

Go get someone like Brent Vigen from Montana State or Jimmy Rogers from SDSU.

Both are fairly young (Vigen is 49, Rogers is 37).

Vigen is 41-9 in 4 years at MSU and currently 9-0. Rogers has a title and is 22-2 at SDSU.

Does Jimbo want back in after sitting out a year? Especially now that Saban is gone?

He could surely be gotten for cheap considering A&M is paying him out the ass for the foreseeable future.

Don't know anything about them, but I like what I see. They know how to win. They've always played and coached at the kid's table and probably want a chance to prove themselves. I bet either would work their ass off.

and get rid of the 'knows arkansas' narrative please. petrino didn't have a damn thing to do with arkansas.

in the age of the transfer portal what does that even mean? anyone who might take the job knows where we have to recruit.

To me, I think you are possibly interpreting that wrongly.  Of course, "knows Arkansas" is vague enough to mean different things to different people.  To me it simply means someone knows enough about our history to know that we haven't always, shouldn't be, and won't be happy being a doormat program.

But I agree with you that it really shouldn't matter beyond that.

According to Chuckles we need a coach who "wants to be here." Whatever the fuck that means.

If you pay the coach enough, he will want to be here.

wtf I just read an article that the obvious replacement would be Jeff Taylor. Fuck no. They also mentioned Jamey Chadwell, Gus and Jon Sumrall.
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

Absolutely. I don't give a fuck if they played her or coached here or love the helmet. I want them to win.

hit_that_line

"He's never recruited the south!!"

That's a loser mentality. Saban was from West Virginia.

I'd coach in North Korea with a smile on my face for five years if they paid me enough.

We need a 'voice of the Razorbacks' that wants to be here.

I think it means not Chad Morris who wants to be at A&M?

Clarified.

We've seen what Dimbo can do only with the BEST recruits, and that has fallen off precipitously.

We could fire Chuck and have AI generate Bud  Campbell or Paul Eels.
Chuck needs to go too.  Fire Sam. Fire Chuck. Fire the band.  The band could also be replaced with AI.

Yeah and not just some slapdick looking to get paid. Obviously anyone we hire is going to get a raise and paid pretty well, but like others have said, someone at lower level that has won, had head coaching experience and is hungry to carve out a name for himself.

Highly doubt it.

Not only does he not have a duty to mitigate clause, he was pretty adamant in his Little Rock Touchdown Club appearance that he's loving life just hunting and doing jack shit.

He said something specifically about how he was elk hunting in Montana recently and thought to himself "damn, I'd be going over errors correction from last week's game right about now...this is so much better."

I literally got their names off an article I found when I Googled "best FCS coaches in 2024."

That's probably too much effort for Yurachek.
