I guess the mitigation language wasn't enough to get Sam to retire.  So we're stuck with this stupid buyout.  Sam could be here for years if the boosters are saying told you so.  I hate malzahn but he'd be better than this mess and the hell that is coming.

No one will come here to be an assistant for a one year deal.  With the money they make wives don't tolerate that moving all the time anymore.  Were stuck with what we got.

The decommits and transfers out coming fast.  Look for lots of walkons. 

2 win team next year.  This was a down year for the sec; it won't be next year.  Pathetic.  Sam will leave the program even worse than he found it.  A shitstain.  All the money, the facilities, the base all wasted with an inept coach.  Rich inept coach.

Simple, Sam was a lying sack of shit.  The "Aw shucks, I'm just happy to be here and I'll leave on my own if I can't get it done" was bullshit from the start.

I know Sam won't see it that way but this is some of the most cynical bullshit, I've ever seen.  He gets hired out of the blue when absolutely no one and no other school would have given him a chance anywhere.  If reports are to be believed part of the reason was because Jimmy Sexton wasn't his agent.  As soon as he  has a little success, he hires Sexton and holds us up for a big salary and buyout as if he was owed it instead of the other way around.  Then with our football future hanging in the balance, one more bad year might put this program under, he doesn't go home as he said he would, his ego and his money are more important to him than the program that gave him a chance to be a head coach when his career was already over and absolutely no one else would.

And all through the year, we get his hyper sensitive bullshit.  The other night the commentators were talking about their talk with him and "what he had done for the program" instead of the other way around.  He had a chance to walk away as one of the most beloved characters in Arkansas history but his ego and money were worth more to him than that.  Fuck that guy.

I think he had a good vision and philosophy, but lacked the motivation and attention to detail.

He could've been a great coach, but simply didn't care enough to do so.

I'm not surprised he's doing reasonably well at Illinois, but I don't expect him to win any titles there, either.

We just aren't serious about football. I love the hogs and always will. I even went to a game this year, but the smartest thing I've done is give up my tickets during Bert's time because it was obvious we weren't serious about football.

If this is really happening, then Yurachek needs to hire the OC, not Pittman. Hire a guy that you think could make a good head coach and tell him that. Hell, Sam will likely drop below the magical .500 mark by game 5 next season. Fire him then and give the new guy 6 or 7 games as the interim to see what he can do. 

I'm not a fan of the head coach in waiting model, but this could be a situation that calls for it. Whether it's official or unofficial.

Yeah, he didn't kill it here.  His last season was roughly equivalent to this one, and it got him canned.

But he was a winner at Wisconsin and has Illinois competitive.  Overall resume wise, significantly stronger than Sam.

Not saying we should've kept him, but we should be firing Sam if we held him to the same standard.

Sam's 11-22 (about to be 11-23 in conference) without a winning SEC record in a single season.
