I do think we need someone in staff who is if not in title, a de facto associate head coach.  This person needs to be responsible for discipline and coordinating all the various parts of the game to make sure that the various substitutions and situational stuff is taken care of.  Sam has shown he is not capable or that.  Let him glad hand, recruit, and give "Aw shucks and colbeer" interviews.  Leave the coaching to others.

I don't know.  I don't have an answer for that.  I'm just stating what I think it will take to make this shit show half ass work.

No coach is right every time about what decision to make.  It may show a lack of confidence to say so, but you know damn good and well that is true.

Few are wrong as often as Sam.  It would be hard to get that many judgment calls wrong if you were trying to blow them all.

I really think Pitman still steps down after Friday. It's the only thing that makes sense at this point, especially considering what Sam and Hunter have said in the past. Everybody saves face. Sam gets some cash and we work to solve the real problem.

Don't let former players influence your search (serious programs don't do that). Get somebody young and hungry. Give him the resources. Give him the incentive contract. Don't hire somebody because it's their turn.

I've heard from a pretty reliable source that knows two large donors who both told HY at the time that he gave Pittman the buyout that he was jumping the gun and that if he needed to fire Pittman in a couple of years don't come asking them to write a big check. I kind of hate to share that because I'm a fan of HY and think he's done a very good job overall as athletic director. With A&M and Miss.St. both looking for coaches maybe this isn't the best time for the Hogs to be looking for a new coach anyway.

the university doesn't have control of it.

the change is not just the money but how it's handled. arkansas's "official" nil collective is handled thru charities. they get the money and pay the players for appearances, etc.

most of the other schools in the conference collectives are true bagman operations. run by third party, for profit entities that direct the 'donations' where the givers want it to go.

what this probably means is the money given will go straight to the football team. the collective needs to be setup, more than likely being done so now. i think that's why pittman said he goofed up when talking about it at his presser.

I think the fact Mizzou is a "top 10 program" with Drinkwitz is a massive aggravation for Arkansas fans who can't understand why with better finances, fan support, and facilities we aren't winning more than they are.

What pisses more people off, way more than what missouris is or isn't rated, is watching the coach nobody wanted because he had one time worn cornrows be within a Joe Theisman type injury away from possibly playing for a championship.
