Poor blocking by the OL contributed to some of the turnovers.

Not really.

1 turnover against Ok St was a missed block assignment, so that's on the OL.

The other 8 really had nothing to do with the OL.

Okie St:
pick 6 - Green's arm was hit due to a missed block. OL fault.
Fumble - Jackson dropped a pitch
Fumble - Sategna dropped a punt

Texas A&M:
1 int thrown by Green - bad pass by Green.
1 fumble - Green fumbled at the mesh point with Jackson on an RPO play. The DE on that play is not supposed to be blocked. Green read the play wrong.
1 fumble - Green stripped when rolling out to his right. Green's fault.

LSU:
fumble - Dubinion fumbled after being hit from behind on a 13 yard gain.
int - Green throws an int on a RPO. Read the play wrong. His words.
fumble - Sategna fumbles after a reception.

Yep, but we had 3 turnovers. Score on one of those drives instead of turning it over and that's different.

Another thing I'd point out with the OL. Even in the Petrino regime when we were good we were still getting our QB killed.

The Petrino offense now is a lot more read/option where as then it was almost no read/option...but the passing plays/route concepts mostly all look similar. The pressure on the QB is also similar.

As DJ Williams has basically been saying most of the season. You stand in the pocket and scan the field and you'll find dudes open but you are going to take hits. Every Petrino QB has had to learn how to take hits and it's not nearly as bad now as it was back then where dudes could tee off without getting a targeting call. Most of the really good Petrino QBs including Lamar Jackson developed a pretty dang good pocket awareness.

QB guru handpicked a guy who just drops the ball or does several wtf things a game. That's not on the OL.

Guess we should've kept the guy that can't cut it in the de facto AAC PAC12. lol. He's gotten better with the wtf in last couple games imo. And not all the drops have been entirely on him obviously.

For what it's worth, Green has improved a lot in the last 3 games. Albeit against MSU will skew the stats.

His last 3 starts have 65% completion percentage

Where this gets rough is even under Bert we had legit NFL prospects on the offensive line nearly every season he was here.

Back in 2017, the linemen had cleaner jersies than Austin Allen.

That hire sunk the Bert era single-handedly.

We had talent on the OL, we were just poorly coached as hell. You could see the cracks in 2016 (Anderson's first year), but 2017 is when the wheels fell off.

Remember when we had 8 straight plays on the goal line against A&M in 2017 (a fresh set of downs thanks to a flag) and still couldn't get it in? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Sure

Kirkland, Tretola, Skipper, and Ragnow but lets pick one year out of the hat. I'm not saying they were rosters loaded with future NFL starters. NFL PROSPECTS for an SEC roster is a fairly low bar. 

Each team in the SEC each season should feature at least 1 if not as many as 3 future NFL lineman across the offensive line if they want to be "good".

Didn't get much out of it other than he claimed he was having some mental health issues and confirmed he refused to go into the Mississippi State game (which he admitted was a shitty thing to do in retrospect).

He didn't come off as bitter or angry. Just lost and a bit aloof.

He made it sound fairly acute (just found out that his grandmother had gone into hospice care and it messed him up) and that he was wanting counseling, yet he said when Pittman kicked him off the team that Pittman told him he'd been a problem for 3 years.

As with most things, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
