What is the consensus if we lose out with no bowl.  5-7 with a humiliation to LT and big beatdowns to Texas and mizzou?  Will he be fired?  If Yuri has no $ to fire him going 6-6 and a bowl he has no money if he loses the rest.  If he has $ if we lose out to fire him he has $ to fire him if we win out.   Or anything in between.

That's why I think we're stuck with Sam regardless. Fuck.

Pretty evident that GVN wasn't going anywhere for a while after not firing him after last year.

Hiring Petrino to get two more wins to keep butts in the seats was what they wanted.

They don't want to put any more money than they have to, as long as mediocre results are enough to give the fanbase the delusion that we are improving or better off than we were.

Unless they do something retarded like raise donation levels or parking space prices, the status quote stays the same.

Petrino leaving would throw a kink in the works, because then they would have to find someone to do as good and the portal will not help that.

Either way, those like us that care are fucked.

Sam doesn't have a rabbit's foot stuck up his ass like Hootie did.  We might lose out.

Depending how bad the injuries are after the Texass game, nothing is off the table.

What's the best case scenario, long term?

We lose enough for Sam to be fired, some big money guy decides to be John Tyson of football and we land a big gun.

So what's the worst case scenario?

I think it's this: Sam wins out. Big win vs Texass, take care of business vs La Tech, somehow don't trip up vs Mizzou, and win some mid tier bowl. Wow. 10-4. Sam gets a contract extension and a raise.

Then next year we go 5-7 and it just keeps going. Year after 6-6, then a 8-4 year, then 5-7 again

That would be HDN 2.0 minus the douchebaggery.

You're an optimist.  Sam stumbles to a win out.  Gets the Norvell sized contract and yuge buyout.  From there we are relegated to an even lazier version of Sam and endure endless seasons of 2-3 wins.  There is no bright side to any scenario as long as Sam Pittman stays here.  Maybe he'll have some kind of Jesus epiphany under hip anesthesia and quit. I don't hate Chad now as much as I hate Sam.

The Whyte Boar

At least Chad never lied with some cornpone "You won't have to fire me..." bullshit.

I will glad take us winning out on the year and having Sam and his fucked up hip back next season. You guys suck if you want us to lose just so we can get on to the next loser coach.

Yep.

I love BMFP and still think he's a good to great OC. That said, I saw his hiring for what it was —  a 'wag the dog' move to get our fan base reinvested after last year's shit sandwich.

This right fucking here.  Especially, considering that means we not only beat Texass (spit), but we mar there record going into the playoffs.  You fuckers are a really sad lot if you can't find the joy in fucking up Texass and Tenner in the say damned season.

Well, that's not going to happen.  If he somehow beats Texas, he'll lose to LaTech and Mizzou.

Texas is going to lay 70 on Sam.  He'll make some stupid Great Value comment and say the kids are still playing hard. We're gonna work hard on Louisiana Tech.

A goddam joke.

This decision was made as soon as we beat Mississippi State.  It was evident against Ole Miss that all our eggs were in the "go to a bowl" basket.  Fuck the fans that come to watch.  Loser program with a loser mentality making loser choices.

Anyway, fuck texas let's go fuck them until there are tears.
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

Just went to stubhub and there are a ton of Texas tickets for sale, as low as $41 per seat.

Guess I should have said the program's attitude seems to be one of "fuck the fans that come to watch." Personally, I think they all have the patience of saints.

Early game, meaning you gotta get there the night before.  Gonna get beat bad.  So, drive up and spend $1000 to $1,500 on the trip.  Go to the game and spend the rest of the weekend hungover, tired, and pissed off.  No thanks.  I'll hunt to whenever I feel like coming in.  Check on the game whenever that is and watch to either root or laugh, whichever is appropriate.

I was surprised to get more than face value for my club seats when I sold them after the Ole Miss game.
