Yeah, as someone said (maybe in this thread), it really sucks seeing Deion, Norvell, Kiffin, and even Drinkwitz all having success this year, and we passed or whiffed on all of them.

Edited to add: He would succeed too if the Arkansas sports curse would let us take the ball gag out of our mouths and decide some other team wouldn't be so loose and sloppy.

This kind of reminds me of back Holtz was fired, and folks like Wally and Orville were printing their candidate lists with names like Tom Osborne and Barry Switzer as realistic choices.  No one is leaving Florida State to come here, even if we paid him $20MM per year.  No one would love to see it happen more than me, but not only has that ship sailed, it's permanently docked elsewhere and never returning to this port.

Yeah, because when we've had elite coaches we've done so poorly. 

100% of Arkansas' problems historically have come from poor coaching hires.  The one time in the SEC era that we got it right we were competing with everyone and a top 5-10 program.  ESPN, Jimmy Sexton, and the like have successfully perpetuated the notion that Arkansas makes good coaches bad, when the reality is that shitty coaches make Arkansas bad.

The Gus PTB connections are the goons who sabotaged Norvell for us in favor of Chad Clownshoes.  Everyone associated with that hire should be banished from the state.

I would say "No one is leaving Florida State, WHILE THEY ARE WINNING BIG, to come here..."  There is always the chance of hiring someone that washes out and they land here...that is the Arkansas way.
